Did you know Microgreens should be grown on soil? Did you know hydroponic vegetables often lack full spectrum vitamin and mineral contents due to the way they are grown?!
One of the gigantic micro farmers from Canada sent his Microgreens in for testing compared to hydroponically grown commercial greens and certain compounds were up to 400x as dense including things like beta cerotine! The super soil was night and day more nutritious.
I worked for a large hydroponic company as a young adult and I received years of education from the owner and his son about these differences. The organic scam, hydro vs soil, full spectrum lights compared to single 6500K. All things I implement here at Microgreen Kitchen!
Long day of harvesting but I am finally done! I will be making delivery rounds tomorrow between 4-6pm. I will be bringing a nice selection to Blackberry Lane Farm for Friday thru Mondays availability at the stand.
There should be some more popular varieties available at the stand this weekend, at least 5-6 packs of broccoli and some spicy salad mix! A few other goodies headed there as well including radish, sunflower, cantaloupe, kale, and speckled Pea!
Thank you everyone for your support and I hope to see you all Sunday at the market! Plainfield Farmers Market Sunday 11-3pm
Will have to determine if we are going to do another pickup schedule at the market parking lot during the winter. If you would like to continue receiving Microgreens from Microgreen Kitchen after the market ends, please reach out or find me at the market Sunday!
Your all amazing and I appreciate you more than you know! Let's finish the 2026 season strong and get ready for this next chapter.
(I am going to be looking for part-time or full time work starting in October and if anyone knows of or has any employment leads, I would greatly appreciate any tips! Don't worry, I will still be producing for the local community!)
