Plainfield Farmers Market today, Sunday from 11-3pm! Only one more market left after today for Microgreen Kitchen's 2026 market season!

Finally a location to grab fresh packs of Microgreen Kitchen's micros at your convenience and without an order submitted! My apologies to any customer who was told they would always need to fulfill an order form, the owners of this farmstand made things so accommodating that I was able to make this work! Blackberry Lane Farm will be open for business starting tomorrow morning Friday through Monday! I just dropped off a bunch of fresh packs and this time I was able to stock the stand with Broccoli 🥦 and Red Cabbage 🥬 Sunflower 🌻 Cantaloupe 🍈 Speckled Pea 🫛 Radish 🫜 Spicy Salad Mix 🥗 & Kale 🥬 ! Plenty of broccoli this time!

Their hours are 10-6 starting Friday and is a self serve amazing farmstand with dozens of local artisan products! Support Local Business at your convenience!

Pro-tip: Fold up a paper towel into 4ths and stick inside the clamshell to absorb any moisture that builds. This will extend the shelf life and should easily last two weeks in the refrigerator!

Plainfield Farmers Market this Sunday!

Did you know Microgreens should be grown on soil? Did you know hydroponic vegetables often lack full spectrum vitamin and mineral contents due to the way they are grown?!

One of the gigantic micro farmers from Canada sent his Microgreens in for testing compared to hydroponically grown commercial greens and certain compounds were up to 400x as dense including things like beta cerotine! The super soil was night and day more nutritious.

I worked for a large hydroponic company as a young adult and I received years of education from the owner and his son about these differences. The organic scam, hydro vs soil, full spectrum lights compared to single 6500K. All things I implement here at Microgreen Kitchen!

Long day of harvesting but I am finally done! I will be making delivery rounds tomorrow between 4-6pm. I will be bringing a nice selection to Blackberry Lane Farm for Friday thru Mondays availability at the stand.

There should be some more popular varieties available at the stand this weekend, at least 5-6 packs of broccoli and some spicy salad mix! A few other goodies headed there as well including radish, sunflower, cantaloupe, kale, and speckled Pea!

Blackberry Lane Farm this weekend into Monday! Microgreen Kitchen will be dropping off a selection of fresh locally produced Microgreens! They are looking awesome and these are loaded with nutrition! Get them while they last!

Plainfield Farmers Market this Sunday!
20 Fresh trays destined for the market this weekend at Plainfield public library from 11-3pm!
The cooler will be loaded with packs harvested within 12-18 hours from the market! I will sleep over the winter lol!

Feeling good as my plants are looking good! Crazy how those two things are tied together! I swear it is not fun to be around me if my plants are not perfect!

Here is a tray pouring out Red Acre Cabbage and about to be packed up for Blackberry Lane!

Red Cabbage is a powerful Microgreen that contains compounds critical for our cardiovascular system and inherently blood pressure! Have anyone in the family with cardio concerns, Red Acre Cabbage is a perfect tool! It lasts a long time in the refrigerator and has a very mild taste which is perfect for smoothies or other applications! This is my favorite brassica!

Now that's a tray of microgreens! I'm back baby! This is the new Holy Trinity Mix I came up with to offer the three highest sulfuraphane containing microgreens I work with. Broccoli, Red Acre Cabbage, and Red Russian Kale! This is the compound being used for anti-inflammatory properties and cancer prevention. I was a bit light on Mild Salad Mix this week so a few lucky customers get to be beta testers! Lol, this is easily one of my best trays all month so it should be net positive for these customers. I will work on creating the new labels and listing this on the website next week. Any customers who would like to order or switch to the Holy Trinity Mix, feel free to reach out! Thomas

The crops are looking so much better! Thank you everyone for your patience and understanding! I will not be using public water for anything anymore but cleaning! They always without exception get started with RO water from Jewel but then start drinking filtered water from my house after a couple days. That water is fed underneath in the bottom tray and never touches the plants. It was completely fine for a year until it wasn't. So that is that. Solved. I am an open book. I take sanitation very seriously. Crazy how it just shifted like that after a year at this location. But now everyone benefits. Going to have much more control over the operation installing a RO system for the grow room!
