Where are all our artistic market muralists? Check this out!

Let’s make this alley beautiful with murals! Charles Town Now is now accepting portfolios from muralists to be considered for this project. Artists should be prepared to work within a color framework, and, be able to collaborate with other artists to pull the entire alley together. More than one artist may be chosen. Muralists chosen could be required to complete a mural up to 8 by 8 feet in size. Artists can submit their portfolio of murals no later than August 17th.

The Master Gardeners will join us at the market on Saturday, 6/20. They say...

June is when our plants really start to take off, and it’s also the time when more insects begin showing up in the garden. We’ll be talking with visitors about both the helpful bugs and the not-so-helpful ones, along with eco-friendly ways to manage them. To make the demonstration more interesting, Professor Carlos Quesada, the entomologist at WVU, is lending us preserved specimens from the university collection for the public to take a closer look and learn how to recognize some of the most common ones in our gardens and the use of integrated pest management.

We still have free potting samples and seeds to anyone who’s interested in learning about gardening. And we'll demonstrate how the potting kit works.

We'll share printed educational materials for adults and children who would like to learn more about gardening, horticulture, and related topics.

Joining us on Saturday (6/20)as a featured nonprofit is the The Land Trust of the Eastern Panhandle (LTEP). LTEP works to protect open space, farmland, and the rural landscapes of Berkeley, Jefferson, and Morgan counties. For 30 years, they’ve partnered with local landowners to preserve the scenic beauty and historic character that define our region through perpetual conservation easements and responsible stewardship.
Your involvement matters. Whether you’re a landowner, a conservation‑minded neighbor, or someone who simply loves the beauty of the Eastern Panhandle, you can help ensure these landscapes thrive for generations. 🐔 The Charles Town Farmers Market is same time, same place on South Samuel St., from 9am-12pm.

WV Fest is from 10am-5pm, with live music, food, art, all kinds of vendors, and celebrating all things West Virginia! Expect Washington street to be closed by the time you get to CTFM, but (free!) parking will be available on the side street and the municipal lots. All the event info on Charles Town Now!
