RIP.. .. i remember walking into the Laurel Market. ...Well before the Common market was a thing, and not understanding that it wasn’t a corner store. But rather, a family owned business... with heart and soul. . that could take care of so many of your wants... make you custom sandwiches.... That huge aisle of beautiful candy by the pound with white chocolate covered pretzels and on and on . ( How many of you out there would stop by before you went to the Manor and sneak the best candy in your pockets.. to movies.).
The magic will be missed and Charlotte will be all the worse for losing one more family owned and run business, but I can’t wait to see where they become new.

Beloved Laurel Market beverage director, and Myers Park High alum, Martin Pusser has passed away.

According to his obituary, Martin died peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2025, surrounded by the family he loved, most especially the nieces and nephews he cherished. 

A service to celebrate his life will be at 4:00 PM, Saturday, October 11, 2025, at The Common Market Oakwold, 4420-A Monroe Road.
