Camp North End has informed us that they will not be hosting our farmers market this year. While we are saddened by the news, we are thankful for the past five years of their support. Sadly, it is too late on the calendar for us to develop a farmers market for the 2026 season in a new location. However, we are exploring our options for the future. Hopefully, at some point, we will be able to find a new home and will be able to resume being a source of fresh, healthy, and local food to our North End community. Thanks to our vendors and shoppers for their support and fellowship over the last five years and we look forward to the time when we can all get together once more.

As much as we hoped to see you one more time and end the season together, the weather is not on our side. Due to impending bad weather, the final farmers market of our 2025 season at Camp North End has been canceled for the safety of our vendors and guests. While we’re disappointed not to celebrate one more Wednesday evening with you, we want to take a moment to say thank you from every farmer, food artisan, and crafter who filled our market stalls this year.

Your continued support of local food and craft businesses keeps more than our market thriving, it strengthens the entire Charlotte community. Every time you choose locally grown produce, pasture-raised meats, or small-batch crafted foods and goods, you help sustain family farms, encourage creativity, and keep dollars circulating close to home.

Please keep supporting your favorite vendors directly at our sister market, South End Farmers Market which runs year-round, 8am-1pm every Saturday and remember every local purchase, big or small, helps grow something lasting — a stronger, more connected community.

Farmers markets aren’t just where local foods are sold. They’re where new food dreams begin. Week after week, amid our tents and tables, you’ll often find tomorrow’s favorite small-batch sauces, baked goods, or handcrafted snacks in their earliest stages. Many of today’s most beloved local brands first tested recipes, gathered feedback, and built loyal followings at their neighborhood market. In fact, some of the vendors who started with us at Camp North End five years ago are now thriving brick and mortar businesses, and they have you to thank. By shopping at our market, you are nurturing creativity and community by supporting emerging artisans willing to take a chance on their ideas.

Whether it’s preparing for cozy dinners or stocking the pantry for cooler days, early fall shopping at our farmers market reminds us nourishment isn’t only about what we bring home — it’s about presence, participation, and gratitude for the abundance that surrounds us as the season turns. Shopping here is as much about community as it is about sustenance, a way to witness the effort and care that go into each handmade or farm-grown item. Early fall at the market invites us to pause, to savor the in-between, and to find joy not just in what we take home, but in the shared experience of seasonal change.

By shopping at our farmers market, something lingers long after the bags are unpacked. It isn’t the food. It’s the people. A quick weekly stop local produce, meats, or artisanal goods often turns into a chat about recipes, a laugh about last week’s weather, or catching up on a vendor’s new baby. These aren’t just casual exchanges. They weave a fabric of trust and care. You know where your food comes from and who is responsible for it. You know who produced the specialty foods and craft items. This shared connection makes our market more than a shopping trip. It evolves into belonging to a true neighborhood that means more than city blocks. Supporting a local farmer or artisan isn’t about the product. It’s about being part of a community that feeds one another in every sense of the word.

This Wednesday, you get three times the bang for your SNAP buck! Thanks to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Food Policy Council and Mecklenburg County, EBT SNAP recipients will receive triple their purchase in SNAP tokens up to $50 ($150 in market tokens) which can be used to buy eligible food products from the market's vendors. Just stop by our market tent to get started. This program does more than stretch food dollars. It ensures families have access to fresh, local, and nutritious food to fuel healthier lives while reducing food insecurity. In addition, every purchase also supports local farmers and food producers, helping strengthen our community food system overall. When all families have access to fresh food, and growers gain more customers, everyone benefits.

This week at the market, enjoy a free frozen lemonade while taking part in a fun public art project. You are invited to share your answer to the question, “What’s your squeeze on life?” on a community board. Your voices and stories will help spotlight Extra Squeeze microgrants, part of the Helpful Unfettered Gifts (HUGs) program, a collaboration between Springclean, Bogues Group, CharlotteFive, and Charlotte Is Creative. Just like shopping at our farmers market supports local growers and food artisansm and crafters, Extra Squeeze supports Charlotte’s artists and other nonprofit creative initiatives. As we celebrate Labor Day this week, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the hard work and dedication that make our community thrive. Just as this holiday honors the labor that built our nation, our farmers, bakers, food artisans, and crafters embody that spirit every day—rising early, working the land, and crafting the foods and goods that fill our tables and homes. When you visit the market, you’re not only enjoying the season’s best flavors but also celebrating the skill, resilience, and effort behind them. This week, join us in honoring the hands and hearts that keep our local community strong.

It's a farmers market miracle! The Farm at Dover Vineyards has just stepped up to fill in for Deep Roots CPS Farm this week. Check out their tent for just-picked figs, blackberries, butternut squash, summer squash, zucchini, cucumbers, bell peppers, and eggplants — along with fresh eggs, honey, and canned items. We always say it and it's always true: farmers have other farmers' backs. See you at Camp North End soon!
