🌿 One Last Stop Before Our Summer Break! 🌿

Today is your last opportunity to visit us before we take a short planning break from May 31–June 7 to prepare our summer and fall schedules.

🌼🐝 Ever wonder why pollen is so important to honeybees?

Pollen is one of the primary protein sources for a bee colony. While nectar provides energy, pollen provides the nutrition needed to help feed developing larvae, support healthy hive growth, and maintain strong worker bees throughout the season.

As bees travel from flower to flower collecting pollen, tiny grains stick to the fuzzy hairs on their bodies. They pack this pollen into little “pollen baskets” on their legs and carry it back to the hive where it’s stored and used as food for the colony. 🌻

But here’s the amazing part…
While collecting pollen for themselves, bees naturally help pollinate flowers, fruits, vegetables, herbs, and trees along the way. Healthy pollinators help create healthy ecosystems and stronger food systems for everyone. 🌱🍓🌽

Freedom Float Weekend was created for those looking to step away from loud bar scenes, crowded festivals, and the constant noise of everyday life. This is a quieter, grounded outdoor retreat experience focused on simple summer living, creativity, nature, and authentic connection.

Spend the weekend floating in our eco-pond swimming hole or float about our ranch. Enjoy relaxing dockside, creating art in nature, grilling with friends, reading under the trees, swimming under the stars, or simply doing absolutely nothing for once.

Guests will also have the option to join a relaxed educational nature walk with your host Christina Yoc featuring beginner-friendly homesteading concepts, intro to beekeeping basics, organic gardening, regenerative farming practices, and simple ways to reconnect with nature during your getaway.

🌱 Even on our “closed” days… the work never really stops around here. 🌸

Today we’re at the shop tending to flower baskets, refreshing pots, feeding the soil, and getting our gardens thriving for the season ahead. One of the biggest things we believe at Roaring Lion Ranch is practicing what we preach — the products we carry are the same products we use in our own daily lives, gardens, and homesteads.

From nourishing our soil with products from Soil Food to planting heirloom varieties from MIgardener, we truly believe healthy gardens start with healthy soil, thoughtful growing practices, and a little patience. 🌿

We may officially be closed today, but if you’re out and about in the area and need a quick pickup, feel free to stop by and say hello! We’re always happy to talk gardening, flowers, seeds, soil health, and homesteading with fellow plant lovers. 🌼

Thank you to everyone who came out to learn something new, reconnect with something old, and spend meaningful time together in nature during our herbal workshop this weekend. From beginners asking their very first questions to longtime herbal enthusiasts sharing stories and experiences — this is exactly why we created these gatherings. ❤️

A special thank you as well to those who chose to celebrate birthdays with us at the ranch. There’s something truly special about slowing down, sharing food, learning together while making memories outdoors surrounded by nature, community & animals.

Because of your support, we were also able to raise additional funds through our ranch art sales benefiting Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue and veteran-related causes through our ongoing charity efforts at the ranch with Valkyrie Recovery Art Works & CBD Botanicals of Springfield.
