For our cinnamon roll flavor, we’ll have our new pumpkin cinnamon rolls topped with maple cream cheese frosting. And this week’s special is a delicious brown butter apple crumble bun—filled with brown butter cream cheese frosting, salted caramel, and homemade apple pie filling, then topped with a salted brown butter crumble. 😍

We’ll also have apple turnovers and fresh sourdough bread.

Hurry in for a cozy Sunday morning treat and a cup of our house-roasted coffee! Doors open at 10 AM. 🥰☕️

A little family movie-night magic… 🌹⚔️

This week, we traded Sherwood Forest for old California and transformed our home for a cozy Zorro movie night—complete with Zorro’s red enchiladas, Elena’s Spanish rice, ranchero beans, churros with chocolate and Elena’s spiced pear sangria. And, of course, our own little masked hero was dressed for the occasion. 🖤

Friday family movie nights may just be our favorite new tradition. 🥰 🎬🍿 movie night

Happy Labor Day, Doty! 🇺🇸

If you’re out riding the Willapa Hills Trail—or simply craving one last taste of summer—stop by The Doty General Store this holiday Monday!

I baked a little extra for the long weekend, so we still have peach turnovers, apple turnovers and slices of brown butter carrot cake. And, of course, we’re scooping Tillamook ice cream into our homemade waffle cones! 🍑🍎🍦

Every once in a while, something happens here at our little store that reminds us just how incredibly kind and thoughtful people can be. This Sunday, it happened not once, but twice. ❤️

This sweet gentleman and his wife came out for our Sunday morning goodies after seeing the pictures I shared of the aircraft carrier cake I made for Ellis’s fifth birthday. He had worked aboard a real aircraft carrier for 24 years and decided he simply had to come meet our little Top Gun fan and show him some of his real flight-deck gear.

He brought the actual helmet he wore while working on the carrier—and then gave it to Ellis. 🥹 He also told us that he had been part of the deck crew in the original Top Gun movie, which, as you can imagine, made the whole experience even more exciting for Ellis!

Then, funny enough, on that very same day, another sweet member of our community stopped by with a surprise for him. She had also seen the pictures of his aircraft carrier cake and thought of Ellis while visiting the USS Midway Museum with her students through the Midway Institute for Teachers. She brought him a Midway hat, water bottle and the cutest little badge from their trip. 🥰

To have two people independently see something that made our little boy happy, think of him and go out of their way to bring him such special gifts—all on the same day—was incredibly touching.

Thank you all so very much for your generosity and thoughtfulness. Ellis was absolutely in awe, and these are treasures he will enjoy for years to come. More than the gifts themselves, though, we are grateful for the kindness behind them. You made one five-year-old feel awfully special, and you reminded us once again just how wonderful the people in and around our little community truly are. ❤️🥰✈️ 💚
