Happy Friday from the farm,
It’s starting to feel like a real spring here in New England, and we are soaking it in. While we wouldn’t mind just a little more warmth, we’re grateful not to have jumped straight from winter into summer like in past years. The slower transition has given us a chance to really get things going the right way.
The farm stand is officially open and stocked! We’re operating on our self-serve honor system daily from sunup to sundown, with weekend staffed hours throughout the month of May from 9 AM to 1 PM. You’ll find a selection of fresh harvested greens like baby salad mix, spinach, kale, spring onions, green garlic, and microgreens, along with local products including eggs, pasture-raised beef, dairy, maple syrup, and more.
Our plant sale is also fully underway. We have a wide variety of strong, healthy plants available including tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, eggplant, herbs, flowers, and more. In addition, we’re offering our elite greenhouse tomato varieties—carefully selected for vigor, flavor, yield, and disease resistance. These are the same varieties we rely on for production, and we have extra available this season. Elite tomato plants are in 1-gallon pots and are $15 each.
Behind the scenes, it’s been a push week on the farm. We are almost finished getting the blueberry field chipped—thank you so much to our amazing volunteers 💪 We truly couldn’t do it without you. We also got LOTS of fertility down on our blueberry field in hopes of feeding these bushes well!
Even with the tractor breaking down more times than we can count this week, we’ve still managed to make great progress. Many more beds have been planted, and we’ve officially started trellising the tomato crop, which always feels like a big seasonal milestone.
Things are moving, crops are going in, and we’re getting closer to that abundant stretch of the season.
We can’t wait to see you at the stand this weekend.
