Warren Farms

Warren Farms Warren Farms provides an open air farm environment that is home to Tink's Berries! Retiring from the dairy business in the mid 1970’s, Charles R. Warren Sr.

We want to be the first to welcome you to Warren Farms in the heart of Chesapeake! Our family’s farm is situated just north of Edinburgh section of Chesapeake, Virginia. Our family’s story began here in March of 1930 when Charles Warren Sr bought the farm to start a full time Holstein dairy operation in a sparsely developed Norfolk County. and his son Charles R. Warren Jr., continued to farm into

the early 1990’s. Raising mainly wheat, corn, soybeans, he then added the first crop of strawberries along the front pasture cut along S. Battlefield Boulevard in fall of 1993. Folks loved coming out to the farm to pick, so he continued the crop until 1998 when his last child went away to college and he had to start paying for labor! (Just kidding!)
Charles R. Warren Jr., or “Tink” as he was known to family and friends, grew up here on the farm. Working side by side with his father in the dairy business for so many years started to wear on him until he brought cows back home with the “Brangus” breed in early 1992. Travelers loved to see the black cows on green grass! It was often referred to as “The place with the Black Cows!”
In early 2019, Tink decided to make his grandkids very happy, inviting Chad & Krista Mapes of “Chubby’s” to the farm! This once again became another opportunity for our community to enjoy spending some time on the farm. We’ve worked hard to honor those who provided and continue to provide for us. That sentiment hopefully will be evident in our first year back in the Berry Biz! We hope that you will all come see us this Spring season! Berry truly yours, Warren Farms

To all our faithful customers,

We want to sincerely thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm each season.

After much consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to skip strawberry season this year. This past year, we noticed more trouble with finding enough healthy plants to put back in the ground for this year’s season. Noticing a shortage of our favorite berry plants, and rather than compromise on the quality you’ve come to expect, we’ve chosen to pause production for 2026.

We place a great deal of trust in our preferred varieties — Sweet Charlie, Chandler, and Ruby June — and we are hopeful that by this fall these plants will once again be plentiful and ready for a strong, healthy start.

Our goal is to gear up for an exceptional strawberry season in 2027, and we truly believe this short pause will help us come back better than ever.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We can’t wait to welcome you back to the fields next season!

With gratitude,
Warren Farms 🍓
