Good morning everybody,
I know it's been a wee bit since we posted last, and I apologize for that. My Knee replacement was 2 weeks ago and recovery is going good, not as fast as I would like, but the doctors are happy. It was a tough decision to get it done right at the beginning of planting season, but there was no was I could put if off any longer.
OK, enough of that and back to the farm life. So on Sunday 4/12/2026, I had the folks from Gerhard's Cafe visit the farm and I thought their field trip went amazingly well! We are growing some specialty crops for them that they can use in their feature entree's.
Since the beginning of this month we have planted over 500 pepper plants, 200 tomato plants 2000 more onions + quite a few squash and bush bean seeds.
Now that I am on the mend, I promise to post a liitle more frequently.
Enjoy your day!

Well with the weather that has now taken a turn from that bitter cold a few weeks ago, and now the temps are in the upper 70's, It's time to start planting. So we did just that... Today we planted close to 800 russet potatoes and this upcoming week we'll plant the Yukon Golds and the Pontiac Reds. If all goes well, I hope we can also transplant the leeks to their final growing spot at the farm

Well the seedlings that we started a few weeks ago are looking great. We will be adding to the variety of peppers this year compared to last. We had good success with them last year and we're hoping for an even better crop this year.
Out tomatoes are also coming along nicely. We will be growing a new variety this year, it's call "Get Stuffed? WHAT?! It is an 8 oz. tomato that is hollow inside, just like a bell pepper. It holds up tp baking a lot better that your other mid to large tomatoes
It's still been slow at the farm the past 10 days. About 2" of rain last weekend and all of the cold weather prior to that. The ground has just been to wet to work.
I'll keep you all posted on our onion situation in a week or so.

Thanks for your interest.

Good morning,

Not a lot going on ay the farm the past 3 weeks with this really cold and inclement weather.
Right before the big freeze a few weeks ago, we picked the last of the fall/winter crops which means we won't have anything ready until late April or beginning of May.
We did plant our pepper starts 2 weeks ago upstairs here at the house and they're just about 1/2" tall already. We'll be planting the tomatoes this Thursday from seed in the plug trays.
If all goes according to plan, all of these should be ready to plant the 1st week of April.

Enjoy your day.

Bloody cold, isn't it?

It's a good day to start our spring plug planting indoors. I planted about 450 pepper seeds into a 512 count plug tray.

The Pepper types planted today were Anaheim, Cayenne, Jalapeno, Nadapeno (the no heat Jalapeno), & Tollis Sweet Italian.

I have a few more types of peppers to plant tomorrow or Sunday.

I will be planting the Tomato seeds in about 2 weeks.

Good morning everyone,
Not a lot going on at the farm the last few weeks. We've been cleaning up and preparing for the spring planting that starts in about 8 weeks.
I will be starting our veggie plug trays this week so they'll be ready by 4/1. Most of these are peppers and egg plant. About a week after that I'll be planting tomatoes, tomatillos & my Blue Hubbard squash. I use the Blue Hubbard squash as a sacrificial crop to lure a lot of the pests that attack other plants in the cucurbit family. This way I can spray chemicals only on that crop keeping the harsh chemicals off our other plants. I hope this works.
Thanks for following!

Hey everyone,
Here we are on Christmas eve and reflecting on our 2nd year in business. It has been a much better year this year versus last and the lessons we've learned have been very good. Our quality has improved tremendously thanks to the local ag extension guy coupled with my previous years in the horticulture industry as a grower, it's an awesome feeling to see what we have been putting out.
Now we're planning for our Spring planting and what produce were going to produce this year. We will be adding potatoes and sweet potatoes the year. We will be planting those across the street from us on our neighbors property because their soil is more conducive for those items due to its loamy soil.
We will be growing some items for Gerhards Cafe in Spartanburg, which will be nice to see some of our items on their menu for their specials. If you haven't eaten there, it should be on your "places to eat" list.

Available this week is
Broccoli
Spinach
Arugula
Beets
Turnips
Rutabagas
Collards
Green Cabbage
Purple Cabbage

I hope you all have a great Christmas.

Thank you for your support!

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

Sales have remained pretty good for us right through November. The cabbage has been much tastier that I expected, and the broccolini was out of this world. All of the people that cooked the broccolini said the color was such a deep emerald green, it really stands out on the plate. We'll be planting a lot more of this next year.
All of the onions are now planted, all 6,000 of them. These wont be ready until late spring, 2026.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Tim
