🌞 Weekly Market Takeaway – Family Day Edition
📍 Chetek Farmers Market at The Pine Lodge Shop

This week’s biggest takeaway wasn’t something we bought—it was watching all the kids having an absolute blast at Family Day! From the petting zoo to the hula hoop contests, there were smiles everywhere. I think my favorite animal was the baby calf, and those hula hoop contestants were incredible! Two young ladies especially put on quite the show.
As for the food and goodies… let’s just say my family and I did a lot of “market research” this week. In fact, I may have overcommitted to the tasting department and ended the day with a little belly ache. Moderation was definitely not on the menu. 😆
🥤 Bulldog Fuel
I kicked off the morning with a Raspberry Lemonade loaded tea for a much-needed energy boost after a late night of Family Day preparations. Mom loved the Fresh Squeezed Strawberry Mango Lemonade, and the guys enjoyed their coffees as well.
🍰 The Cottage Kitchen
The cake flight was such a fun idea! Four different cake flavors to sample. We enjoyed them all, but the Reese’s Peanut Butter cake was our unanimous winner. Their cinnamon rolls were delicious as always too.
🍞 Red Barn Bakes
We picked up their Jalapeño Cheddar Bread. Not a sourdough this time, but more of a pull-apart style loaf. Great flavor, perfect for dipping, and just enough heat to keep things interesting.
🌶️ Ragin’ Robyn’s
Speaking of heat… WOW! Robyn’s hot sauce definitely brought the fire. If you’re a heat lover, this one is for you.
Julie with Blooms & Feathers Artisan soaps and more and ( her sassy niece) had some of the most unique soaps. The products were beautifully made, but the real entertainment was reading the sassy sayings on the labels. If you can zoom in on the photos, you’ll get a good laugh!
🍪 Little Loaves Bread Company
We grabbed the last bag available—a peanut butter cookie dipped in chocolate. They were completely sold out by the time we got there, which tells you everything you need to know!
🍬 Taste This
As always, the caramels did not disappoint. I may have added a few more to my stash.
🍦 Klemish Creamery
Creamy, delicious, and the perfect Family Day treat.
🍖 Four Piggies BBQ
Another huge hit this week! We tried the “Heart Attack Bowl” featuring macaroni and cheese topped with pulled pork and coleslaw. My family and volunteers were also raving about the cheesy hash browns. They sold out of several items before the day was over.
🍎 AVEnue Orchard
Their cider and blueberry lemon bread received rave reviews from everyone who tried them.
A huge thank you to all of our vendors, volunteers, sponsors, and families who made Family Day such a success. It was one of those days that reminds us why we love this market so much—great food, local products, community connections, and lots of happy kids.
