Here’s a light dinner suggested by Chris this week: Salmon and leafy greens. Salmon is one of our most popular fish options. Pair it with sautéed spinach to boost calcium absorption by 50%. Add some rice on the side, a squeeze of lemon, and a drizzle of olive oil, and you’ve got a simple meal that’s good for you, too. Fresh, balanced, and easy enough for weeknight dinners.

Tomatoes and olive oil are a classic pairing… but they do more than just taste good. When you enjoy them together, olive oil’s healthy fats help your body absorb more lycopene (the antioxidant that makes tomatoes red). Try them in a simple tomato salad this week for a refreshing side. 🍅

Some foods feel like they belong together… like raspberries and dark chocolate. This is a rich, slightly sweet, and fruity combination that tasted just right every time. But there’s more—both of these ingredients have nutritional benefits, too. Chocolate is a well-known mood booster, and berries are full of antioxidants.

If you were wondering why we put “grain” in quotes yesterday, it’s because quinoa is not technically a grain. It’s actually classified as a pseudocereal—it has a similar nutritional profile and use case to cereal grains, but it’s actually the seed of the plant.

Fun fact: Quinoa has more fiber and protein than most grains out there. One cup of quinoa has 8 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber! Have you tried quinoa before?

Quinoa is a high-altitude “grain” native to the Andes of Peru and Bolivia. It was first cultivated by the indigenous peoples of that region over 3,000 years ago. It made its way into the US health food market in the 1980s, but it really became popular in the 2010s when it started to be sold as a superfood.

Quinoa boasts high nutritional density, is filling, and it’s versatile too. Follow along this week to learn more about this ancient food!

Not all oats cook the same. Here’s a breakdown of the different kinds you’ll find on HarvesTime shelves:

• Steel cut: hearty, chewy, takes time to cook

• Old fashioned: classic and balanced, great for most recipes

• Quick oats: softer texture and faster to cook

• Instant: the quickest option, often comes in single servings with fruit and other added ingredients

Same grain, different textures and cooking times depending on how they’re cut and rolled. Which one fits best into your breakfast routine?

At first we wondered whether oat milk would be a fad, but we’re so glad it’s here to stay!

What exactly is oat milk? In its simplest form, it’s oats and water, blended and strained. Brands like Oatly have made it a go-to for coffee, cereal, and everyday cooking—especially if you’re looking for a neutral and versatile dairy alternative.

We love oat milk! Do you?
