2012: Village resident’s Bill Nickal and Colleen Baldwin while working on a historical downtown mural, discuss
the idea of having a Village Farmers Market.
2013 Colleen Baldwin and Trustee Mickey Kopp present the proposed concept of a farmers market to Ronny Goeler, Mayor of Chittenango.
With the Mayors’ blessing a committee of community members was organized to include Village Trustee Mickey Kopp, Deb Rose and Richard Sullivan.
Summer 2014: The Village of Chittenango officially launches the inaugural season of the Homegrown Farmers
Market at Dr. West Park. The initial format focuses primarily on highlighting regional agricultural vendors and crafters.
2016: In an effort to unify community programming and bring residents and visitors to the Village,
The Town of Sullivan Parks and Recreation Department moves its long-standing weekly summer concert
series away from Sullivan Park and agrees to consolidate it into the Village's Tuesday market schedule.
2018: New committee member Matt Burgun proposes the addition of a weekly Car Show to Committee
Chair Colleen Baldwin . The committee adopts the proposal creating a powerful third anchor for the weekly gathering
Present Era: Following a series of branding and organizational transitions, the combined market,
concert series, and car show operates under the unified banner of Tuesdays in the Park, maximizing
local community engagement at Dr. West Park
The current committee consists of Colleen Baldwin, Deb Rose, Matt Burgun, Diane Horning, John Bonura, Dave Williams, Patti Tripoli, Loretta Burgun, Cindy Caggianno, Ginny Marasco, Bob Freunscht, Gene Stankivitz, Caroline Brazeau and Lou Cianfrocco.
