Welcome to Xocolatl House.

As we continue moving forward, we wanted to pause and share the symbol that represents who we are.

Our logo tells a story.
The turquoise color is inspired by jade, a treasured stone in ancient Mexico.

The pyramid honors the civilizations that shared their knowledge, traditions, and respect for the Earth.

The hands represent the farmers whose dedication helps protect the land and preserve generations of wisdom.

The cacao pod symbolizes the ancestral ingredients and recipes that connect us to our roots.

At Xocolatl House, we believe food is so much more than what we eat. It carries history, culture, and the stories of the people behind it.

Thank you for being here as we continue our journey.

Which symbol speaks to you the most?

Celebrating the strength and unity of women!

Today we honor the incredible women farmers in Tabasco, Mexico, whose hard work protects ancestral cacao and keeps traditions alive. Behind every bean they grow is passion, care, and dedication.

This journey has also been possible thanks to inspiring women-owned businesses who believe in collaboration over competition: , , , .potion and .

This cacao pod is more than a fruit. It’s a promise kept.

In November 2023, while visiting our farmers in Tabasco, Mexico, we planted a small cacao tree together.
It was fragile. Young. Full of hope.

That same trip, I saw cacao pods abandoned on the ground, hectares of land left alone, not because farmers don’t care, but because cacao farming is exhausting and often unfairly paid. Many families are forced to leave their land to look for better opportunities elsewhere.

I asked Estela Lázaro, president of the cooperative we work with:
“What can we do?”

Her answer changed everything:
*Pay people what they truly deserve
*Create dignified jobs
*Rescue abandoned cacao lands

That day, the Cacao Guardian Program was born.

Today, that little cacao plant we planted together has given us its first cacao pod.
A living proof that when you care for the land, the land gives back.

Each cacao tree needs deep, ongoing care:
• Cleaning and restoring the soil
• Monitoring pests naturally
• Planting taller native trees for shade
• Protecting the delicate cacao ecosystem

Why does protecting cacao ecosystems matter?
Because cacao only grows in healthy forests. Without biodiversity, cacao disappears and with it, farmers’ livelihoods, ancestral knowledge, and cultural heritage.

When you become a Cacao Guardian, your support goes directly to:
🌱 Restoring abandoned cacao land.
🤝 Creating fair-paying jobs.
🌳 Protecting forests and biodiversity.
🏺Preserving ancestral cacao traditions.

Cacao Workshop Valentine’s Day Edition!

Seeds of Ancestral Love

Before chocolate was sweet, cacao was intention.

We will begin with cacao seeds, symbols of life, union, and the future we choose to care for.
You will create foam slowly, honoring breath and vitality, turning cacao into a shared moment of presence.
You will prepare a cacao night infusion to take home, a quiet ritual to close the day with intention.

We will end by sharing cacao tamales, because in Mexican tradition, food is love, warmth, and togetherness.

For couples, friends, and hearts that choose to gather.

Goodbye 2025!

This year reminded us that every flavor has a story — and ours starts in Mexico.
At Xocolatl House, we honored our roots through cacao and tradition.

We joined two grant programs supporting small businesses in San Diego, helping us grow with purpose.

We expanded to new homes:
* Millport — Imperial Beach
*Mantra Sukha — Carlsbad

And our best seller, the Spicy Nibs, became a favorite — bold, authentic, crafted with corazón.

To every customer, collaborator, and market that welcomed us: thank you ❤️

Together, we’re keeping Mexican traditions alive and supporting cacao farmers in Tabasco.
✨ Happy New Year 2026 — let’s begin with gratitude, culture, and purpose.

Día de los Mu***os: A Bridge Between Worlds

Fun fact: In ancient Mexico, the sacred Xoloitzcuintle was believed to guide souls through the underworld toward eternal rest.

With roots over 3,000 years old, Día de los Mu***os was born from pre-Columbian cultures like the Mexica, Maya, Mixtec, and Purépecha, who saw death not as an end, but as a transition. They offered food, cacao, flowers, and obsidian to honor Mictecacihuatl, guardian of souls.

Over time, these rituals blended with Catholic traditions, becoming the celebration we know today when ofrendas, candles, and marigolds light the path for returning spirits.

Día de los Mu***os reminds us to celebrate life, honor memory, and keep our roots alive.
Include our ancestral cacao in your ofrenda a sacred gift that connects hearts, generations, and spirits. 💛

Every name carries a story.
Tell us in the comments who you’re remembering this Día de los Mu***os, and let’s keep their spirit alive together.🕊

🌿Long before chocolate became sweet, it was sacred.

Born in the lands of Tabasco, Chiapas and Oaxaca, Mexican cacao is the soul of an ancient legacy — a gift from the gods, carried by the hands of farmers, and rooted in our stories, rituals, and resistance.

At Xocolatl House, we don’t just celebrate chocolate
we honor its origins, its power to connect us to the earth, to our ancestors, and to each other.

This is not just about flavor.
It’s about fair trade, cultural memory, and keeping traditions alive one bean, one story, one sip at a time.

Feliz Día del Chocolate 🌎🍫 — que viva el cacao mexicano.
