Spring on a Shenandoah Valley farm meant muddy toes and endless curiosity, a spirit Mary Alissa Wilson carried right into raising her own kids in Charlottesville. If you’ve ever wondered what a childhood built on self-directed learning and local adventures actually looks like in practice, this collection is a wonderful window into it. These stories were originally brought to Virginia homeschoolers through local newsletters and the state organization, and now they're gathered in one place for all of us.
