When you think of jelly, you probably think of a PB&J sandwich but, for Natalie Levenson, the owner of Always Canning, they are another ingredient in the kitchen to flavor up the next dish. We’re so excited to have a market stall full of these artisanal jellies at our market, starting this Friday!

Jellies by Always Canning include traditional fruit flavors like Black Currant, Raspberry and Strawberry Rhubarb, and also spicy varieties like Ghost Pepper, Habanero and JalapeĂąo Pepper, as well as more unusual concoctions like Pineapple Mango Reaper and Lemon Rosemary.

Here’s what a customer recently had to say, “I’m a frequent farmers market customer who loves finding authentic unique items. Always Canning hits the spot. Best jams and jelly I’ve ever had. Whether looking for that little kick of spice to add to salsa or cooking Thai or sweet delicious jam with toast and butter Always Canning is delicious.”

Our market season begins this Friday. You’ll find our weekly farmers’ market 4-7pm in the southeast corner of the Madison Rd. parking lot.

We’re excited to announce a new vendor for our upcoming market season: Olive Tree, whose booth will offer sweet and savory flavors from the Middle East!

Owner Ibtisam Masto, a native of Idlib, Syria, enrolled in a culinary training program for female Syrian refugees in Beirut before relocating to Cincinnati in 2016. Once here, she connected with RefugeeConnect, an organization that, in turn, recommended Ibtisam for a FreshLo Chef Fellowship, a program of The Kresge Foundation that offered the support, training and mentorship needed to start a new business. Thus Olive Tree Catering was born!

This woman-led company works out of the Findlay Kitchen, preparing delicious, healthy and wholesome food, including savory staples like hummus, baba ghanouj, kibbeh, and tabouleh, and sweet treats like baklava, bird’s nests and harissa cake.

Olive Tree Catering is a Taste of Cincinnati Silver Award winner! For a preview of Ibtisam’s food offerings, head downtown this weekend for the Taste of Cincinnati, and be sure to stop by the southeast corner of the Madison Rd. parking lot next Friday 4-7pm (and every Friday through October) to see Ibtisam at our market!

Just over 2 weeks until the start of our market season! Beginning on Fri 29 May, you’ll find our weekly East Walnut Hills Farmers' Market 4-7pm in the southeast corner of the Madison Rd. parking lot.

Our farmers, artisans and vendors will be selling fresh produce, breads, baked goods, handmade soaps, fine art, artisanal beverages, and more. We’re leaning into the “happy hour” vibe this year, with live music and adult beverages for sale, too!

Today we’re highlighting Cora’s Cakery, another vendor who’s returning to our market this year!

Owner Shaucuana Knight started her business in 2020 as a way to honor her grandmother Cora Stewart, whose memories continue to live on through Cora’s Cakery. “While she was an exceptional cook, dessert was not on her menu, which led me to take the whisk into my own hands,” says Shaucuana.

This Mortar Cincinnati alumna is currently working out of the Incubator Kitchen Collective in Newport, KY, where she bakes her signature cake bowls, brownies, cupcakes, cake jars, and other sweet treats.

And what do customers say? “Some of the BEST desserts I’ve had, hands down. You can definitely tell it’s made with love.” “If I could give them 10 stars ⭐️ I would.” “The brownie... Y’all, I can’t even explain how amazing the brownie is!!!! The cupcakes are also amazing.”

Welcome back, Shaucuana. We can’t wait to see you again!
