Keller’s owners, John Vierling and Charlie Dugger have been committed to quickly returning a full service grocery store to Clifton. This afternoon they announced an agreement to sell has been signed with Steve Goessling. Goessling owns three other IGA stores. The closing date has not yet been set. The posted article will appear in tomorrow’s Enquire. http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20110415/BIZ01/104160327

Steve Goessling has always dreamt of building a grocery store from the ground up. Reopening Keller's IGA in Clifton may be the closest he comes to that.

Press conference and caravan to Columbus.

On the morning of Thursday, February 17, 2011 the Friends of Keller's gathered in front of Keller's IGA to hold a press conference about the 1,500 petitions gathered and the caravan to Columbus. Keller's co-owner John Vierling, Friends of Keller's Chair Marilyn Hyland, and Council Member Wendell Young all spoke to press. The group then departed for Columbus at 11:15am. Wendell Young accompanied the group to Columbus to hand deliver the City Council Resolution supporting Keller's.
The petitions and the resolution were delivered to Brad Reynoles, Director of Constituent Affairs for Governor Kasich. The meeting lasted about 45 minutes. Reynoles is now actively working to bring the Attorney General’s Office and the State Tax Commission together to work with Keller’s. We did not get the vending licence back yet but we are moving in the right direction.
The group then returned to Cincinnati. Thanks to everyone who helped make this happen. The support has been overwhelming. THANKS!!!
