Not Alta Loma as in north Rancho, but Loma Alta as in soft-ripened cheese from Nicasio Valley Cheese Company! The Lafranchi family (we love you forever Rick 💜)founded their ranch in 1919. And generations later they use their organic, farmstead milk, to make incredible cheese. Loma Alta kind of lives in the in-between. It feels somewhere between a traditional Camembert and a cream-added Brie in texture. The flavor leans more mushroom and cream than out right butter, it would be delicious broiled on top of sourdough or eaten alongside a summer berry jam!

Have you tried More Cowbell? This semi-firm cow’s milk cheese is made by Goat Rodeo creamery just outside of Pittsburgh. As you can tell by their name, they usually work with goat’s milk, but they get local cow’s milk to make this cheese that may remind you of a baby Swiss. Pair it with a chillable red wine or melt into a Cuban sandwich to keep celebrating American Cheese Month with us! (It also has a really cute label)

Rejoice!! We got our hands on real Aged Cotija from made in Jalisco, MX to make your Cinco de Mayo on a taco Tuesday even more delicious!!
This cheese is made from the milk of Holstein, Brown Swiss, and Jersey cows and it gets aged in an open aging space. Use it the same way you would Grana Padano or drizzle it with your favorite hot sauce. Grab a chunk and crumble away!

Happy American Cheese Month! 🧀

Today we’re celebrating with East of Edam from Schoch Family Farmstead! Made with raw cow’s milk in Salinas, California (the hometown of John Steinbeck and a nod to East of Eden), this cheese is the perfect balance of salty and tangy with just the right touch of sweetness! We haven’t had it in years and are so excited to welcome it back!
