Our products are mostly imported or prepared on our premises. Though Plateroti's still operates at its' original location, the Plateroti family story didn't begin in FL. Originally from Gioia Tauro, Italy, Rudy (Luigi) moved to Long Island, NY in 1949 when he was 20 years old. His wife, Jean, was born and raised in East Patchogue, LI, NY. They raised their five children on Italian delights from th
e old country which were readily accessible in NY. After moving to Clearwater, FL in 1972, they realized the traditional Italian foods they were accustomed to weren't as easily available. In July 1976, Rudy, Jean, and their son, Sal, opened the doors to Clearwater's first Italian Gourmet store. Since Rudy and Jean's passing, Sal has continued to run the family owned business. Under his leadership, Plateroti's is beginning to go global, shipping their #1 selling San Guilliano's E.V.O. Oil across the USA and into Canada.
