Before you panic, these are cicada killer wasps. They look like hummingbirds that skipped therapy, but they’re mostly interested in each other and hunting cicadas…not you. Nature really knows how to make the harmless things look terrifying. 😅 National Geographic

Those citronella candles actually do attract the Japanese beetles and they die in the wax. I may also have caught and thrown a few in there out of spite and anger.
