The Cleveland, MS Farmers Market is looking forward to participating in the Senior Farmers Market Voucher Program and WIC this 2026 season! Help us spread the word!

We strongly encourage all eligible seniors to apply THIS WEEK to receive a FREE benefit card for up to $40 in produce and honey to be redeemed with our farm vendors!! If you are a senior, please check your eligibility and apply here: www.mdac.ms.gov/programs/farmers-market-nutrition-program

The Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce is providing income-eligible senior citizens access to healthier foods through the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP).

The SFMNP provides benefits in the form of a benefit card valued at $40 that can be used at authorized farmers markets in 28 counties across Mississippi for the purchase of locally grown fruits, vegetables and honey. Program information including program criteria and how to apply for and redeem the benefit card can be found on the Farmers Market Nutrition Program webpage at www.mdac.ms.gov/programs/farmers-market-nutrition-program . Senior citizens that applied online and received benefits previously must reapply online in order to receive benefits in 2026.

Back in October, during National Farm to School Month, the Cleveland, MS Farmers, Bakers, & Makers Market brought the farmers market to the school! Through support from the Bolivar Medical Center Foundation, the market invited vendors to set up at Bell Academy Elementary’s school garden for students to shop. Students were delighted to find tomatoes, winter squash, sweet potatoes, okra, peppers, canned vegetables, and a variety of fresh baked bread to take home and share with their friends and families. Students also learned the value of knowing where their food comes from, and supporting their community neighbors who produced it. We’re so grateful for the collaboration with Celeveland Public School District, our wonderful vendors, and Alluvial for capturing the event on film! 🎥 .ms
