The modern way of making jerky here at Papa Jay's is the old-fashioned way. Absolutely no shortcuts are taken in producing the finest quality and most delicious smoked meat you can find. You will know what we mean when you taste it. Only whole muscle USDA inspected beef is used. In other words, only the best. In addition to our secret recipe, many caring eyes and hands reject anything not up to our standards. The hand trimmed beef brings the fat content to less than 1%! A SLUSH PUPPIE HERO—SHANE BECKSTEAD, with his daughter SESHA! Our Slush Puppie machine has been broken down for many months. Slush puppie parts and supplies have become very hard to find. Shane took on the “pet” project and took it to his garage to fix it and clean it up. After many hours (we don’t know how many because he won’t say) and a $350 part from EBay, he brought it back and we washed it out and filled it up with the sugary syrup. Then we flipped the switch. This picture is 24 hours later as he and his daughter sample the first ones from the newly renovated machine. What a joyous day!! The world is in turmoil and always changing, but for now anyways, you can step back in time and get you a Slush Puppie at Papa Jays. So… let the brain-freeze headaches begin again!
