Some people come into your life as teachers. Very few become something much deeper.

Jan is one of those rare people.

What I’m most grateful for isn’t just the knowledge he shares—although that alone is on a different level—it’s the honesty, the integrity, and the unwavering morals behind everything he does. There is no shortcut, no compromise, no ego. Just truth, feel, and respect for the horse.

It’s tempting to think progress = bigger fences.In reality, progress = better foundations.

When you slow down and invest in the flat, the poles, the small details… something shifts:The horse starts to carry itself.The jumps come to you instead of being chased.Confidence replaces resistance.

That’s where real development happens.

The biggest change in my horses hasn’t come from jumping more —it’s come from going back, simplifying, and building correctly.

She didn’t come back the same after having a foal—and that’s where the real story started.

“Mama” Showgirl wasn’t just green… she was weak, unbalanced, and unsure of her own body again. The canter felt disconnected, the turns fell apart, and the strength simply wasn’t there yet. No shortcuts here.

So we slowed it down.

Day by day, focusing on the boring things no one posts:
• Straightness before power
• Balance before height
• Understanding before pressure

At first, even a few correct strides felt like a win. Now?
She’s starting to step under, organize her body, and carry herself—on her own.

We’ve just introduced small gymnastics. Nothing fancy. Just enough to help her think, wait, and use her body correctly.

It’s not perfect.
It’s not finished.

But it’s real progress.

And that’s the part that actually matters-so proud of her 🥰

Not long ago, this wasn’t possible.

The field meant tension, spooking, holding together every stride.
Too much environment, not enough connection.

So we didn’t push it—we built it.
Step by step, ride by ride.
Less hand, more feel.
Less control, more understanding.

Now it’s loose reins.
Snaffle.
Quiet mind.
Same field.

Nothing changed on the outside.
Everything changed between us.
