The grass-fed beef on your table starts with a fence like this one. 🌱

One electric wire on step-in posts, strung by hand by Cody Hopkins and crew at Falling Sky Farm. The heifers on this ground are new to it and only met electric fence a couple of weeks ago, so the line goes up carefully.

That's what grass-fed looks like up close: somebody walking the pasture with a reel and a pocketful of posts, so the cattle can keep eating grass. 💚

If it's going on your family's table, you should know who raised it. 🥩

Our cattle are 100% grass-fed and grass-finished and spend their whole lives on pasture, on small family farms across the USA. They're never given antibiotics or added hormones.

And the farm's name goes on the package. That's the difference between beef from a system and beef from a person who stands behind how those cattle lived. 🌱

This is the chicken you're actually buying. 🐔

Our pasture-raised chickens live out on grass on our member farms, in big mobile shelters we call schooners. The farmer pulls the schooner onto fresh pasture, so the birds always have new grass and bugs to forage and the old ground gets time to rest.

Moving chickens to fresh pasture every day is one of the simplest things a farmer can do, and one of the most important. 🌱

You can know exactly which farm your food came from. 🐔

Every Grass Roots package names the farm it came from, and the birds on our farms live like these: outside, on pasture, in the open.

That's the point of a farmer-owned co-op. A person raised it, and you can look them up. 🌱

Meet one of the small plants that cut our beef. The people who work there own it. 🔪

Some of our beef is processed at Cypress Valley Meat Co., a USDA-inspected, employee-owned plant that handles around 100 to 200 animals a week.

Every small plant that closes is one fewer place a family farm can take its animals. That's why we work with a small plant on purpose. 💚
