Farm in Peace Sunflower field, post storm....
Photos taken friday evening 9/4/26
Mother Nature rattled the field pretty good...but there is still plenty of beauty to be found and photographed! Just might take some muck boots to access all areas and a modified camera angle to make the flowers appear like they are all standing straight!

✌️But be prepared to see large areas completely lodged over from the high winds and rain we experienced this past Wednesday.

✌️Open dawn to dusk daily while flowers are in bloom, (so if there is daylight- we are open!)

✌️Cost- $5 per person

✌️Cash or venmo (this is honor system payment, so there will be no option to receive change)

✌️Cash to be deposited in the BLACK payment drop box located ON THE RIGHT OF THE WELCOME BOARD in the UPPER pavilion at the edge of the parking lot.

📢 This is our final round of sunflowers for 2026, the staged sunflower field will be open through the end of labor day Monday September 7th, then it will likely be a wrap for the season (as far as sunflowers anyways)

✌️Professional Photographers welcome to bring your clients, but pricing will still be $5 per person per session. So if you are a solo photographer and bring a family of 4, your cost is $25 for that session.

🚨✌️🚨UPON ARRIVAL- turn into the driveway indicated with the enter sign. Follow the arrows to the open grass field parking lot ON TOP OF THE HILL. This area is designated for sunflower parking. (there is also parking at the end of the greenhouse for those that wish to u-pick flower bouquets). Once parked, please check in and pay your $5 per person fee and read over the welcome board information located in the pavilion by the parking lot. It is recommended you take a picture of the map we made with where each of the photo props are located. Then enjoy yourself in the sunflower field!!!

✌️Vehicles are not permitted beyond the parking area. It’s a little bit of a walk to visit all of the staged photo areas, so know that going in.

✌️We have multuple areas cut into the field staged with photo props

✌️U-pick flowers beds also open, these bouquets must be paid for separately at the road side farm stand. Please do NOT cut the sunflowers in the upper staged field for photography. The flower beds by the road and directly next to the greenhouse are designated for u pick flowers.

✌️The ONLY entrance to our farm is on Route 39. Some GPS systems try to navigate you down a side road and attempt to access the center of our property, don't listen to it.

🐕Well behaved pets of all species are welcome. Must be on a leash at all times. And please pick up after your pets.

🥧🍦🍲☕️🧋Don’t forget to check out our café Peace of the Pie!!! It’s located just 3 miles west of the farm on the same road. Open Monday-Saturday 9am-5pm, Sundays 9am-1pm 2311 Main Street Collins, NY 14034. *cafe will be closed on labor day, farm will still be ope*

Sunflower field update Thursday morning 9/3:
🌻Lots of sunflowers survived the storm!!! However there are also area that are lodged over from the significant wind and rain
🌻There is standing water in parts of the field, so some areas will be quite muddy
🌻Big foot is practicing his Michael Jackson lean...
🌻I wasnt able to assess every prop this morning, and I noticed some were not visible above the flowers (like the red door) so currently unsure if that can just be stood back up or if its broken
🌻we won't have time to check all the props/reset until this afternoon, so if you come before that just be aware of that.
🌻cut flowers in the front faired OK, still able to be picked, but the plants look disheveled...you know like they were up all night battling for their lives in torrential rains and battering winds. 🤪

Sharing for our scout group! Sunday 8/30 the scouts are hosting a fishing derby at the Collins Conservation Club starting at 930am.
Fishing derby open to the public whether or not you have an interest in joining scouts. No cost to enter/participate. So come have some fun fishing and support scouts with purchasing hot dogs or scout popcorn we'll have for sale at the event.

Bring the kids (or grandkids!!!)
Bring your own fishing poles if you have any, the scouts only have a limited number available to lend out for the derby.

Derby approximately 1030-12
Concessions available around noon
Awards given for most fish, biggest fish, and smallest fish caught!
Also crafts, obstacle course, and all children can 'fish' for a free prize

Pack and Troop 276 are open to boys and girls!

Troop level is grades 6-12

Its an absolute sea of sunflowers!!!
Our Final planting is in almost full bloom (all planted at the same time, but the left side is at peak bloom, the right side maybe 60%)

✌️We planted 2 rounds of sunflowers. This is our first round. This planting definitely had w**ds as competition, but is still pretty!!! The sunflowers grew in thicker and more plentiful toward the back half of the field. The 2nd round is looking incredible and almost practically w**d free. That round will be in bloom in approximately 2ish weeks and we will move the staging into those sections and cut down the first round.

Sponge bathing big foot wasnt exactly on my bingo card for today...but here we are!
Prepping the sunflower field!
The sunflower field will be opening on Saturday 8/15. The first planting is at about 50-60% in bloom today, likely about 75% by opening day Saturday. Our 2nd planting is about 2 weeks behind this round and is looking even better than this round.
Check back tomorrow evening for all the info, details, hours, and staged photo areas.

Everything is self serve, please return cutting shears once done.

The flower beds by the road are open, but the rest of the property is not open to the public.

To pay:
Cash can be left in the wall slot just above the cutting shears in the farm stand
Info posted to pay with venmo
Slide the stems of your bouquet into our pricing ruler to see what your total is

Location. We are right on the main road, Rt. 39. Some GPS ping the center of our property and try to take you down a side road, but the only access is via Rt 39.

Parking. You can park behind the farm stand or follow the arrows for parking at the end of the greenhouses

The Farm in Peace Sunflower peace sign returns in 2026!!! Hoping it grows in nicely!
About 4-5 acres of sunflowers on the top field were planted last week. Another round will be planted in 1-2 weeks.
Transplanting our cut flowers after we finish getting the new row cover situated and holes cut in.
2026 season is upon us!

U pick flowers won't be open to the public until sometime in July, and sunflowers will be in bloom late August.
The farm is not currently open for visitors.
Signs will be posted on the gate by the driveway telling you if and what is open when the time comes.
