Dear Family, Friends, and Local Community members,
It has come to our attention that over the last few months, and even year, there has been an increasing amount of misinformation and defamation being said and used against us. Some of the things being said range from quite petty and pointless to absurd and rather alarming.
We stand by our values and our decisions to not only do our best to have provided the community with their needs, but also in our decision to pursue legal action, and subsequently close the business. We have worked closely with our legal counsel starting in November of 2023, and have followed all applicable legal guidance.
We know that some of the defamation can cause quite a reaction out of people, and that many have chosen to remain silent about it, especially to not continue propagating the intent. We, also, have been silent during this time. It is not our goal to start a social campaign against any business or individuals. Unfortunately, we have felt that now is the time to help clear some of what is being said, because we have realized that in some people’s eyes, silence is guilt.
We stick to our integrity, morals, values, and ethics and will continue to do so. We have full faith in the legal process, and as things progress, we can only hope that these truths will be made apparent. There have been no police reports made against us, as I am sure there would have been if some of the allegations were true, and we have full faith that any attempt to do so now would be an act of intimidation. Our business was NOT sold back to the current owner, and we have no affiliation with them whatsoever.
We have read some of the statements online and are grateful to all those speaking our praises, and are regretful that we couldn’t meet the needs of all residents within the short time we operated Rascal’s Farmers Market. We loved seeing all of you, especially all the furry friends that would stop by on a consistent basis!
