More progress this week!

We added AC and a fan just in time for the summer heat! ☀️

It’s a busy Tuesday on the farm! 🚜

Landon planted corn while Harvey disked the fields. It will be interesting to see if there’s a difference between these fields and our no-til ground this year! 🌽

Today we’re celebrating our Mother’s Day by finishing up the pasture for our ladies! They should be munching on grass tonight… their favorite! 💐🐮

We also did a clean out of all the tools and parts that were in the building. It sure is starting to look like a store and not a construction site!!

On Wednesday we turned on and used the pasteurizer for the first time! It heated and cooled water to the proper temperatures in good time. It’s a huge item off the checklist! ✅

Over the weekend, we cared for the girls and started planning for our favorite time… pasture!! We also scrubbed pipeline and pressure washed the milk house for a future barn inspection!

We tested the tank washer in the creamery today! This tank will be holding the water used to cool the milk in the pasteurizer.

It was a bittersweet night as it was the first time running the tank washer since we sold the milking cows. We certainly do not miss shipping milk… especially with today’s milk prices. But the familiar sound of the tank washer reminds us why we are doing this! It also adds a bit of excitement! 🐄

This weekend Seth welded some more pipeline in the creamery. We also assembled some of the newly painted shelves.

We also brought home two new calves from our local county heifer sale. Maybe Landon will have one in the show ring this summer!

We ask ourselves that question as much as you all do! We are into the details which is exciting but sometimes it means progress moves a bit slowly….

We have some more of the raw milk line installed in the building.

Additionally, we were able to purchase some shelves from the old Hess Farm Equipment store in Canton!
