🌰 A Legacy Rooted in Time 🌳

More than 60 years ago, Dale Martin planted a small grove of chestnut trees right here on our property — a quiet beginning to what would become a lasting legacy. These trees began as young saplings gifted to Dale by Don Crocker, who received these via working with the Wooster Experiment Station through The Ohio State University (OSU).

Recently, Don Crocker's daughter kindly reached out to share this piece of history, helping us connect the roots of these trees to an even deeper story. We were honored to learn that Don Crocker’s own farm in Columbia Station is part of our local heritage — a reminder of how closely connected our community truly is.

Even more incredible to learn, these chestnut trees had survived a blight that devastated so many others across the country. Their resilience is a testament to the strength of their roots — both literally and historically.

Thanks to the foresight and collaboration of Don and Dale, these trees have stood tall for over six decades — providing beauty, shade, and a living connection to our shared past.

We’re proud to care for these remarkable trees and the story they carry. 🌱
