Farmer Dan

Farmer Dan We look forward to providing our local community with raw, lacto-fermented vegetables using certified organic produce grown on our farm.

In 1977 my wife and I purchased a small, 30 acre farm east of Ashland, Missouri. I was so excited about having a place to garden that I broke ground by sneaking into the property before the closing date in the spring of 1977 and began my garden. My roots go back to growing up in the 1950's in the small German community of Herman, MO on the banks of the Big Muddy Missouri River. Gardening and eatin

g fresh from the garden was instilled in me by my parents and grandparents from whom I learned to garden as a small child. Today, after 25 years of operating our small, 2 acre, organic market garden and selling our produce at the Columbia Farmers Market we are entering a new adventure. We are now transforming our wonderful organic cabbages, carrots, leeks, ginger, beets into a lacto-fermented delight, sauerkraut. We look forward to providing our local community with a new yet ancient healthy choices by producing raw, lacto-fermented vegetables using certified organic produce grown on our farm. We look forward to sharing our recipes and product line with all of you.
