A couple of weeks ago, when we had all those rainy, cloudy days, our romaine did what plants do best—it adapted! With less sunlight available, the lettuce opened up its leaves to capture as much light as possible. As it continued to grow in that more open structure, some of the plants began to lean and fall over. Then, when brighter days returned, the new growth turned and headed right back toward the light.

The result? Wonky romaine! It may look a little like something Dr. Seuss grew, but there's nothing wonky about the quality. It has the same great flavor, crisp texture, and beautiful dark green leaves as our more picture-perfect Kelly Greens romaine. It's just a fun reminder that our lettuce is a living, growing plant—and sometimes the conditions give it a little extra personality! 💚
