Well, I think we’ve all had enough excitement for the week. No damage here but we’ve had a couple close calls like this one yesterday afternoon. Now let’s hope we dry out a little so we can plant that sweet corn.

***Last Call***
We started picking our last planting of sweet corn. This will most likely be our last week having corn for sale. Time to stop out and get your last taste of Nehmer’s corn before it’s gone. It’s a long time till next July😉!

We are starting to see some rust move into the sweet corn. This causes flag leaves and some husks to look “dried out”. The corn is still picked fresh and it doesn’t effect the flavor

***edit*** we were able to get out into the corn field now. The corn wagon is back out under the tree.

We were not able to get in the field after yesterday’s rain. There will be no corn at the farm today.

Well this is not good news for the melon crop. Melons do NOT like rain when ripening. We lost a bunch of them this past weekend to the rain and now they’re saying it might be a repeat. We have plenty of cantaloupe for this weekend so, if you want some this year, this may be your last chance.

More rain is in the forecast, especially for northern Wisconsin, as showers/storms travel along a stationary front. If this front moves further south or north, the heaviest rain totals will travel with it. Stay with News 3 Now for the latest.

This is how I found the corn wagon this afternoon. Both signs were on the ground. Now I guess it’s possible for them to blown off the wagon but it hasn’t been real breezy at all. Even if they did blow off the table, how many people saw them laying down there and decided to just leave them down there? Please, if you see the signs like this, help us out and pick them back up.

We have another batch of Door County Cherries out on the stand again while supplies last. Take the bag and leave the box.
