Fire Cider is ready for sale!!!

Indigenous healers have been brewing herbal vinegars for millennia. In fact, humans began making vinegar as long as 10,000 years ago, using it in food and drinks, for food preservation, and for many medicinal and antiseptic purposes. (Old Farmers Almanac).

The original Fire Cider recipe by Rosemary Gladstar included apple cider vinegar, onions, horseradish root, garlic, ginger, and cayenne pepper to taste. Optional ingredients are turmeric, echinacea, or cinnamon, Brew 3 to 4 weeks. As Gladstar says, “Herbalism is for everyone interested in self-health, well-being, and healing, and is easy for everyone to learn.”

My recipe includes all from Rosemary Gladstars original, plus I added jalapenos instead of cayenne peppers, turmeric, carrots, fresh sliced lemons, thyme, rosemary, fresh ground cassis, and fresh ground cloves.

How to Use Fire Cider Tonic
Some herbalists recommend taking a shot of fire cider tonic daily as a preventative during cold and flu season.
Other options:
Hot water with honey. Diluting vinegar is best because undiluted vinegar can erode dental enamel.
Drink by the tablespoon throughout the day when you feel a common cold coming on.
Use as a gargle at the first sign of a scratchy throat.
Mixing half and half with honey, makes a good cough remedy. (Don’t feed honey to children less than a year old.)
Use in salad dressings, marinades, or vinegar-based sauces.
Add to fruit or vegetable juice.

My mixture is not spicy. I can drink it right off the spoon, but it does taste like vinegar. I bought some V8 for creating a healthy, delicious shot.
