Yesterday we received a grant from the Arkansas Community Foundation of Faulkner County for $2,500! Half of that will support the Sharing Fridge program, and the other half will support the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry. We are so grateful for their support, and that money will go a long way in helping us support this community. Thank you so much to Arkansas Community Foundation!

Our goal is to purchase a commercial refrigerator for our ministry, with a total cost of $8,000.
Because of your giving…
we have already received $5,000!

Where we are now:
We are just $3,000 away from meeting the full need.
Our original plan was to use $4,000 from our endowment, but because of your generosity, we will only need to use what is necessary to cover the remaining amount.
After prayerful consideration, we will be using $3,000 from our endowment to complete the purchase.

Thanks to the wonderful Conway community and a very generous anonymous donation, the funds for the new refrigeration unit have been received! Thank you all for your continued support of this ministry and for helping get food, that would otherwise go to waste, into the bellies of those who need it. 🥘🥓🧆🍲🍛🍜🍗🍕🥪🥗

Did you know that since January 1st, the Salem UMC food ministries have provided:

- Approximately 2,500 individual meals through the Sharing Fridge ministry
- 8,000 lbs of donations from additional store pickups that support both the fridge and the pantry
- Groceries for 427 people in 145 households including 135 children, 207 adults, and 85 seniors through the food pantry

This being said, we house ALOT of food outside of what you see in the sharing fridge. In order to sustain this ministry, an industrial sized unit is necessary. Unfortunately, we have been informed that our refrigeration unit is on its last leg and it will cost over $8,000 to replace it. We have collected $4,000 and are hoping to raise the rest before the unit goes out. Salem is a small church with a small budget. We have a lot of heart and a large food ministry but not a lot of money.
