We love that we are famous, but stealing can be done in many ways. Sadly, sometimes it's by taking someone else's work, even when its considered 'legal'.
We stay out of politics publicly. We hope you all do your duty to vote, but we will not tell you who to vote for. We forsure do not appreciate being publicly dragged into politics.
Before you can jump to any conclusions also, I promise this post has absolutely NOTHING to do with Patrick Kapenga or his family, but it has quite literally everything to do with me saddend at the lengths gov/politics will go for a vote or their agenda. They have been customers of ours for quite some time and I sat down with him and his wife last week and discussed this and many other things for a few hours. I am grateful they were willing to talk with me about it. *go meet your neighbors!!!!*
The way I understand it, there's a PAC that is very heavily funded by Consumers Energy, and they sent out these flyers in the mail to thousands of people.. with our beautiful farm on the front AND the back. We work very hard to fix up and preserve these beautiful barns and we spend hundreds of thousands in doing so.
This is not our photo (I do know who's it is), but it does NOT belong on a political mailer WITHOUT our permission. You can not take someone else's business that they have boosted off the ground since day one, and use it to boot strap your own business, agenda, politics or whatever you want, especially without asking them for permission. Do your own grit work, its not that hard.
We pay a lot of money every single month already to Consumers Energy. Maybe in turn they should give us an entire year of electricity for free, for doing what they did, to push their desires.
It's disgusting.
It's technically not illegal, but it is so boldly wrong.
Do better.
Please.
At the very least, put our name on the flyer somewhere and advertise for us! ๐ I am pretty certain this flyer was mailed out to over 10,000 people!
Also, if any of you have a connection to this PAC or higher ups at Consumers Energy we would absolutely love to get ahold of them!
