this one hits all the sentimental vibes. 🥹

one year ago this sunday, august 2nd, Main St. Mercantile officially opened their doors for the very first time.

i’m posting today because i’ll be bouncing between three back-to-back markets starting in just a few hours. i wanted to make sure y’all had time to stop in, celebrate, take all the pictures, shop all the anniversary deals from the incredible vendors (including me!), and give a huge thank you to the two who made it all happen. 🫶🏽

swipe through for a little trip down memory lane with me. you’ll see some of my very first memories here, from signing my contract and opening day to where my business is today.

the honest truth? instagram doesn’t give me enough characters to explain how much this place truly means to me.

main st. mercantile shifted the trajectory of my business, and i’m not sure i would’ve started vending markets or even created the cozy kitchen market. without it.

i’ll be sharing a blog soon where i can properly tell the whole story. 🥺

to celebrate one sweet year, i’m doing 10% off everything from the kitchen of a. in store only this weekend, august 1st & 2nd! 🫶🏽

if you stop by, grab something from your favorite vendors, check out the new vendors, tag the business you supported, and most importantly, show betina, andy, and all of the vendors some love.

i also tucked a little preview of the new mercantile exclusive into the anniversary goodie basket! if you’re the lucky person who takes it home, you’ll be the very first one to own the one sweet year room spray… besides betina, of course. 🤭

happy one sweet year, main st. mercantile! here’s to many more. 🫶🏽

soft burger buns that actually hold their shape when you pile on the condiments and juicy burgers. 🍔

what you’ll need:
• 2 packets of yeast
• 3 tbsp cane sugar
• 1½ cups warm milk
• 1 tsp salt
• 3½–4 cups flour
• 2 eggs
• ½ stick (4 tbsp) unsalted butter

to begin:
• combine the warm milk, sugar, salt, and yeast
• let it bloom for about 10 minutes
• add the flour one cup at a time
• after the first 2 cups, mix in your beaten eggs
• add another cup of flour and continue mixing
• add the butter and mix until incorporated
• the dough should be slightly sticky. if it’s sticking to absolutely everything, add a little more flour until it’s workable but still soft
• let the dough rest for 1 hour, or until doubled in size
• divide and shape into burger buns
• let them rest another 30 minutes
• preheat your oven to 375°
• bake for 28–30 minutes, or until golden brown
• brush the tops with butter while they’re still warm*

*sesame seeds or your favorite toppings can be added before baking, but i love them plain.

store in an airtight container for 3–5 days, though they’re definitely at their best fresh or the next day.

enjoy! 🫶🏽

it’s been a second since i posted one of these. 😅

i’m finally getting back to my regular market date posts! between making products, working on restocks, organizing markets, and maintaining my personal life… posting where i’ll actually be has definitely taken a backseat.

if you’ve been wondering where to find me in august, here you go! 🌾

i’ll also be keeping the markets & events page on my website updated, so you can always check there for my latest schedule.

i hope to see some beautiful familiar faces and meet some new ones along the way. 🫶🏽

restocked magnesium spray.. and then immediately realized i was completely out of my custom labels. 😅

small business things. 🤪

sleep tight magnesium spray and 82 mag are officially back in stock!

i also have a little surprise i’ve been keeping to myself. 👀 after hearing so many of y’all ask for a bigger bottle, i went ahead and added a few 4 oz 82 magnesium sprays to this restock.

and trust me… that’s not even the surprise.

stay tuned. 🌾

FAIL PROOF BREAD & ROLLS 🍞

this is an easy, fail proof bread. it’s quick, soft and has a stunning crust. this will make one sandwich loaf and yield 9 rolls roughly.

what you’ll need:
• 2 packets of yeast
• 1 3/4 cup of warm milk
• 3 tbsp of sugar
• a dash of salt (roughly 1 tsp)
• 3 1/2 cups of flour
• 1/2 stick (4 tbsp) of unsalted butter

to begin:
• warm your milk up to a manageable warm. (tip: if you stick your finger in it, you’ll be like oh that’s a little hot but it’s not gonna melt my skin off)
• pour your warm milk over your yeast, salt and sugar
• let that bloom for 8-10 minutes
• give your mixture a good stir and add in one cup of flour
• add your butter and your second cup of flour and mix
• add the remaining cup and a half and knead until it forms a dough ball
• let rest for about 1 hour
• divide your dough into two sections, make one a tad bit larger. this will be your loaf.
• divide your smaller section into 9 uniform dough balls. these will be your dinner rolls.
• oil, grease or butter up your pans
• preheat your oven to 375°
• place rolls into pan and let rest for another 30 minutes
• for your loaf section, roll into a rectangle and roll up to place into your loaf pan
• allow loaf to rest for another 30 minutes
• bake for 30-35 minutes
• using the remaining stick of butter, rub on the tops of your loafs when they get out of the oven

enjoy your freshly baked bread with your favorite jam, butter or just take a bite while it’s warm! we’re no judging here.

from my kitchen to yours, happy baking! 🫶🏽

we found this sweet little bee the other day. 🐝

i originally picked it up because i thought it was hurt and wanted to move it somewhere safer, but unfortunately it had already passed.

it’s kind of crazy how something so important can also be so feared. don’t get me wrong… if something starts buzzing in my ear, i’m probably swatting first and asking questions later. 😂 anybody else instantly panic when they hear buzzing?

you could still see some of the pollen on this fluffy little butt. thankfully there are plenty more out there doing their thing, but we moved this one to a quiet little spot where it could become one with the earth again.

take this as your reminder to leave a shallow dish of water out for the bees and maybe plant a little patch of flowers. they’re doing some pretty important work out there. 🌻
