Thanks to Char-Meck Food Policy Council, in collaboration with NC Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHHS) Division of Aging and Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services (DSS), eligible seniors may qualify to receive $50 in vouchers to spend on fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, and honey at the market.

The WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program (WICFMNP) is available at the North Meck Community Farmers Market!

Eligible WIC participants can use their WICFMNP card to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from approved local vendors. Even better, thanks to a partnership with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Mecklenburg County Public Health, Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services, and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Food Policy Council, participants can also receive $30 in CMFPC Market Tokens to stretch their food dollars even further.

How it works:
• Receive your WICFMNP card through your local WIC office.
• Bring your WICFMNP card to the Market Information Booth at the North Meck Community Farmers Market.
• Show your card to receive $30 in CMFPC Market Tokens (once per market visit while funding is available).
• Use both your WICFMNP card and market tokens to purchase eligible fresh fruits and vegetables from approved vendors.

Stop by tomorrow to use your WICFMNP benefits and enjoy healthy, locally grown produce while supporting local farmers!

Senior Vouchers are Back!

Beginning Wednesday, July 1, eligible Mecklenburg County seniors can enroll in the Seniors Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) and receive $50 in vouchers to purchase locally grown fruits, vegetables, fresh-cut herbs, and raw honey at participating farmers markets, including the North Meck Community Farmers Market.

Here’s what you need to know:

• Enrollment begins July 1, 2026
• Voucher spending season runs July 1 through September 30, 2026
• Each eligible senior receives $50 in vouchers

Who is eligible?
• Mecklenburg County residents
• Adults age 60 and older
• Monthly household income at or below:
• $2,461 for a 1-person household
• $3,337 for a 2-person household
