Merrifield Farm & Stand Family farm in Cornish Maine. Our mission is to provide healthy, sustainability grown and affordable food to our local community.

We really enjoy farming and love the connections it allows us to make with people and the land! The farm stand in Porter has been closed, but we still farm on the original family land in Cornish, and attend Portland Farmers' Market twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. And we still fill wholesale orders - anyone need a few hundred pickup truck loads of pumpkins this fall?!

The frost on Saturday night only lightly nipped us (killing the outdoor basil and a few pepper leaves), so we have plenty of food for you on our last Wednesday market of the season! We’ll keep attending Saturdays for at least another month, but are looking forward to spending more time on the farm with family. Be sure to keep coming out and supporting all the other Wednesday vendors!

**LIMITED EDITION** Merrifield Farm totes for sale for a good cause!
Bags are $35, and proceeds will go towards education for three orphaned girls to attend school in Madagascar.

You may remember our farmer friends in Madagascar we have been fundraising for over the years. Recently, three orphaned girls moved to the village of Berivotra. They lost their parents in the conflict down south, and are in need of sponsorship in order to attend school. It is very important for them to get an education. Tuition, housing, food, clothing and books are $50 a month for each girl.

We are searching for a more sustainable and long term solution for these young people - if anyone is interested in sponsoring them each month until their graduation, please reach out. For a total of $500 per year you will change the course of their lives.

Happy Wednesday! Come on down to Deering Oaks; the summer bounty continues with Melons, Peppers, Baby Zucchini, Fresh Flowers, Eggplant, Garlic, Etc, and so many Tomatoes! We have flats of heirloom seconds for $1/lb, perfect for putting up sauce. Pumpkins are here too, but we only brought the cute little ones so don’t be scared! 👻
