After navigating a 64.4-mile stretch with over 600 turns and more than 50 single-lane bridges, we set up camp in Hana's lush rainforest for a few days. We foraged diverse fruits and caught fish. While exploring, we stumbled upon a variety of mushroom species. Maui 2025 was amazing.

It's hard to imagine mushrooms still growing on November 23rd. Here is a beautiful cluster of blue oysters growing along the bottom of the totem method, another great way to grow mushrooms.

It has become too cold in the mountains for most mushrooms to grow, but fortunately this flush of elm oysters will provide us with a few more pounds to put in the freezer before the season ends.
