Greetings FB family, friends, and followers. I've noticed more activity on my Farmgurl Farmette page. Much appreciated. I have been very non active on this page for quite awhile. I'm not going to sugarcoat anything. It's been one hell of a year. When we decided to leave Colorado (not a smart choice), we also decided to use a "professional" long distance mover (another baaaad choice). You were all so supportive during that nightmare. I fought hard which did some good but all totaled the movers scammed us out of about $9000. And we lost tools, househiold goods, garden supplies to those theives.
When we arrived in Georgia in April, David and I got an education in weather, culture, topography, speech, and lots more. We moved from a beautiful piece of loveliness in Colorado to a neighborhood. The neighborhood and people around us are great. Friendly, happy to chat, and always there to help. But the culture shock is just overwhelming. Then in May....the summer season hit this area with BRUTAL heat and humidity that never changed. I haven't had a windo open since May. No garden. This Farmgurl misses the dirt to the core of my soul. As summer slowly wears on the temperatures are finally cooling a bit and I can go outside again. The lesson here has been you have to know where you belong. Where your spirit thrives and your heart is happy. And for both David and I it is in the WEST!!!!!
In Late July, we made a huge decision to sell everything and I mean everything, buy a camper van-which we did- and travel the country to see friends and family. We will be heading back to our beloved West to find a forever spot to live. At least that was the Master Plan. And like the Beatles song, "Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans." the next week we got the call David has tested postive for cancer. He is diagnosed with tonsillary cancer and one lymph node. The doctors have assured us his treatment should be successful in killing the monster. Tommorrow, he begins 7 weeks of intense radiation every day and wekly chemo. PLease send the good juju !!!! So the Master Plan has changed.
Rio, our Poodle is 12 and he is fading. He's lost almost 9 pounds in 3 months. He always has been Daivd's velcro dog and he now sticks even closer to David. They know for sure!!
I will always be a farmer in my heart. But sometimes, you just gotta go with the flow. I love you all and truly appreciate your support. Be well and spread some love.....along with good trouble! Peace.
