Hey hey, here is the ketchup. I think the consistency will be there, it is still warm but it is thick.
I had made ketchup before but it was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy runny, flavor was there.
I ditched the idea for a few then this year I was determined.
I found a recipe that an additive called thermofill, some of may know of it but I did not. I am not a big additive guy, matter of fact that is one reason why I do what I do.
But anyway I did look it up and doesn’t seem to awfully harmful lol.
What it does is it’s a thickener. It is used for pie fillings also.

This is a Heinz copy cat supposedly, will see. It is a little bit of a project but hopefully worth it. If this works I will not buy ketchup again.

Been working on this project the past couple days. Set up two compost bin tumblers. I have room for two more but I’ll see how this set up works. Omg was the fricken ground hard as a rock digging these post holes. We need more rain. Will probably have to reinforce the posts in the near future just for peace of mind.
I had ketchup going while I was working on this today. This was in between work.

There is room for a couple more but will see how these work out. And will probably do some reinforcement on the post in the near future for peace of mind.
Digging those post holes verified how much moisture we are lacking. Boy do we need rain.

Slowly and thoughtfully building this homestead up.

Hey hey, Saturday evening! Ok wow. Did some s**t, and drinking a little wine and smoking a little cabbage.
Readied 4 boxes and seeded for “don’t s**t your ass” lettuce and spinach.

Alsoooooo prepped my new spot for garlic, the long row that’s covered. I will be planting this late fall. I have been trying to grow for my yearly and enough of garlic for planting the next year with out buying. I think this may do it.
The white by the fence are grain bags for w**d control.

So this pepper box, lol wow. Ok so I planted carrots in it a week ago, I did a close up of the carrot seedlings they are the little scraggly looking plants.
Then I planted 6 year old Brussels sprout seeds, they are in between the pepper 90% from the carrots. They are the little leafy starters, I moved in on them. Didn’t really expect them to grow , but by if they did the peppers would be done by the time the BS needed more space.
Then I planted some spinach at the end of the box lol.

F**k Mexico and their vegetables. Another recall! Jalapeños, for Qudoba. Give me a break. What else? Coming to a grocery store near you?

Buy local. Something like jalapeños you can can up. They can be used for chili, goulash, etc.. then you have them and you know you bought local.
We all need to tighten up and keep this stuff local or grow your own.
Certain leafy veggies you can grow year round through the winter with cold frames. Look it up. If you grow all ready it wouldn’t be that difficult.
Something like peppers 🌶️ you could experiment with and maybe dig up a couple plants this early fall, pot them and bring them in over the winter.

Im trying a wintering tomato this year (3 different types) for a tomato that will keep through the winter hanging in my kitchen. I’ll keep you all updated on them this year.
