In 1974, it became know as Wilkes Supermarket of Tucker when owner Kretzer Wilkes retired from A & P Tea Company with 30+ years experience in the meat industry. Since that time, there have been a number of locations in DeKalb a

nd Gwinnett Counties. The first meat market in Forsyth County was opened next to Leon's by fourth generation butchers Amanda Wilkes Lynn and Ray Lynn. Wilkes Meat Market and Deli moved to it's current location at 5515 Bannister Road in 2002.
