We're grateful to Danbury PD Detective Steve Castrovinci for his efforts tracking and Special Federal Agent Jordan Wright for his extensive efforts in apprehending this man.

What may look like a "good sale" turns into a brazen federal fugitive whose scams run deep and at times sophisticated.

Our teams on the phone; via email and our walk in service are trained to ensure we slow down and simply pause to ensure we’re vigilant.

And, while our losses were minimal; others in our industry were not so lucky.

A federal grand jury in Hartford has returned a 10-count indictment charging MICHAEL SALVAGGI, 61, of Seymour, with offenses related to his alleged defrauding wholesale food companies of hundreds of thousands dollars.

Our business is all about people. Good people.

And today we celebrated Michael Rubenstein; a 40-year+ sales veteran of the foodservice industry in CT & NY who has officially retired.

He represented Omaha with incredible loyalty and passion for his customers. His relationships span decades and restaurant owners and chefs across the region have shared incredible stories about how “Ruby” has enhanced their menus and assisted in building and growing their restaurants.

We’re grateful to him; and excited for his next chapter.

Love talking about our history. The longevity of our company is something we’re very proud of. This year Omaha Beef will celebrate 145 (!!) years.

We’re currently a third generation, family owned and operated business here in Danbury.

As we continue to push forward, the nostalgia of our customers and employees continues to be an important element of who we are.

And it celebrates the one thing we try and never waver on. Service. We continue to bring that mindset into a modernized distribution world.
