I just looked at the calendar. 3 WEEKS??!! Who stole the last couple of weeks off my calendar? How can we be 3 weeks from Christmas?!
I know who stole them. I watched them do it. It's those people in Nashville who did it. Few of you know that we picked up a second market for online sales and delivery through Market Wagon. Our sales in Knoxville have been booming and it seemed like a good time to expand into another market. Wow. Those people are hungry over there!
I just updated those market stores with holiday menu items and remembered that I forgot. I do that a lot these days. Forgot to put up the orders for Christmas Cookie Boxes here locally, but here we go. We've got 3 sizes this year: a 20.00 Elf Box, a 28.00 Mrs. Claus Box and the Big Santa Box at 40.00. You can order or get your questions answered through this post or by texting me at 260-667-4125. Let me know what day you prefer for pickup between now and December 23. I'm closed here, but always here working anyway, so we'll arrange a kitchen door pickup day and time that works best for you. Merry Christmas!

We're canning up a second giant batch of our Spiced Autumn Butter today. The first one sold out online before I could get it into the store inventory! A delicious mix of apples, pears and pumpkin, with warm spices and a little citrus, it's my favorite new product this fall. I'll post a link to order as soon as I get it up on the website🍎🍐🍋🎃🍐🍏

If you've looked over the website and wondered if we were going to have a place for you to order this week's sweet treats, the answer is yes, I've fixed the link to the correct page now. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
All I can say is, it was a long day yesterday. Here's the link to this week's sweets, which are limited due to time constraints.

In case anyone wonders what I've been up to lately.....2025 has been a year that I never want to repeat lol. I've gone from one respiratory virus to another; I swear these viruses are playing leapfrog with me. This last one caused me to lose my voice for almost a week and I think the farmer was secretly pleased! 😆

But I've managed to get some work done on the website in between coughing, so here we go. The link below will take you directly to the FarmStand Kitchen page, where you can shop our Grab & Go items in the deli section, bakery goods and freezer foods in their own sections. It is nowhere near complete, but I've got a start for this week. Check back, as I'll be adding new items daily to order this week up until Thursday. I've got some delicious new products to add to the Pantry section, but ran out of time and steam. On Saturdays, I'll be adding new items to the menu for the following week's orders, so stay tuned. This is a new thing for me and I'm trying to figure out how best to make it dovetail into our Market Wagon ordering and fulfillment system as well.

I haven't given this thing a robust testing on each item yet, so there may be bugs that I've missed in going through it. Shoot me a message here if you run into something that doesn't work for you. This e commerce platform was not a great choice to do the things I want it to do, so there was a lot of struggling to bend it to my will lol.

The homegrown tomatoes are tapering off and it won't be long before I won't be finding these jewels sitting on the table in the mornings. Offerings from the farmer's evening wanderings, because he knows I enjoy a good breakfast tomato.

Fittingly, this is Kellogg's Breakfast, a tomato I discovered decades ago at a farmer's market in Michigan. I was poking thru a fella's colorful display of heirlooms and he asked if I was looking for something in particular. I said I was just looking for something different from what I already grow. And he put this tomato in my hand, saying "This is what you're looking for.". He was right; super juicy, sweet and mild and incredibly prolific in production, Kellogg's Breakfast Tomato has been in our gardens and on our breakfast table ever since that summer.

It will be back in the greenhouses next spring, when planting time rolls back around. Make space in your garden for this one if you can. It's one of our favorites and grows just as well in Tennessee's red clay as it does in Michigan's black loam. We'll be offering our seedlings and flowers by pre-order again this year, starting Jan 2. Reserve yours early and don't miss out!

We're Growing in a New Direction!

Dear Friends & Neighbors -

After many years of welcoming you to our retail FarmStand, we’re planting the seeds for a new season of life — retirement! We're not disappearing, just changing how we serve you.

Over the next few months, Misty Morning Farm will be transitioning into seasonal sales, with a growing focus on e-commerce, so we can keep bringing you the fresh, handmade, and homegrown products you love — just with fewer hours spent working, a little more porch sitting and a lot more fishing. Beginning this week, the retail store will be closed as we shift things around to begin our growing season for the spring greenhouses. Next week, we’ll begin offering our bakery goods, prepared meals and other kitchen goods on our website. These items will be available for you to shop online for local pickup at designated times on Thursday and Saturday, instead of walk-in sales. Watch for posts with links to the website and to new items beginning this weekend! To our Market Wagon customers, things will not change and we’ll be delivering products on Thursdays as per usual. For those of you who have asked about the spring plant sales, the answer is Definitely, they’ll be back next spring! Other things will be phased out throughout the next season, as we move toward our retirement goal of a smaller greenhouse and farm product business.

Here’s what you can still expect for now:
• Seasonal plant sales
• Small batch baked goods and prepared meals, available by order for pickup at the FarmStand
• Farm-made pickles, preserves, jams and herbs, plus fun new kitchen goods and farm products
• Fresh seasonal produce, but only through Labor Day!

Thank you for supporting our little farm and helping us grow into this next season. We can’t wait to keep sharing the bounty with you — one click at a time.

With gratitude,

Tim & Angie Garrison

The farmer is on his own this weekend, smoking meat and watching football. He's open at noon today, with pulled pork, smoked brisket, bologna, sides for BBQ plates and sweets to enjoy during the games.
I'm going to be with both the grandkids at a wedding today, so life is sweet enough for me today! ❤❤❤
