Well, that was quick! Our homegrown cabbage is back in the market! 🥬🎉

We only had to go about 6 weeks without our homegrown cabbage this year, which is a first for us! 🥬 We started picking our first homegrown cabbage of this year’s harvest yesterday!

This variety is called Fast Vantage, and it’s the earliest of the cabbage varieties that we grow. We will have this variety for several weeks, and then we’ll begin picking the next planting and variety! 🥬

We plan to (again) have homegrown cabbage continuously into the fall and winter seasons, just like last year! We will also have homegrown red cabbage starting mid-summer 🤩

Available homegrown produce in the market includes: strawberries, kale, Summer Crisp lettuce, Napa cabbage, bok choy, kohlrabi, and more leafy greens 🍓🥬

We also currently have South Carolina peaches, Florida black seedless watermelon, Indiana asparagus, Indiana rhubarb, cantaloupe, tomatoes, and more! 🍑🍉🍈🍅

Strawberry you-pick will be OPEN tomorrow, Friday 5/29! Catch the last tractor before 5pm to be able to pick your own 🍓 We have lots of pre-picked strawberries in the market, too!

Let’s talk flower planting! 🌸🌼🪻

Who else is excited for us to bring back the you-pick flower field this summer?! 🤩🌸🪻🌼 The rain has tried to stop us from getting them in the ground, but thankfully we found some windows!

What many people may not realize or think about is that when we get a lot of rain, consistently over weeks, it prevents us from doing a LOT - working ground, shaping beds, laying plastic, transplanting starts, among other things. We started these flowers in our greenhouse, and they were 12+ inches tall before the field was dry enough for us to transplant them 😳 that’s too tall!

Today was the first day that the field was dry enough to do the next task now required of us: make a trellis system for the flowers to grow on! 🌼🌸🪻 Because they were so tall when they were transplanted, they need a support system to grow strong and upright. This adds a lot of labor and cost for us, but makes it worth it if the flowers survive for summer picking!

We have planted zinnias, celosia, snapdragons, and more in our you-pick field and are working our way through trellising them. When you’re out picking later this summer and see the trellis system in place, now you know why! 🌼🌸🪻

We expect to have you-pick flowers beginning around mid-late June. You can thank the wet field conditions for the slighter late start! 🌸🌼🪻

There are some extra celosia starts available for sale in our market now - get a few and plant them soon! 🌼🌸🪻 They’re $2 each!

Strawberry you-pick will be CLOSED tomorrow, 5/27, but we hope and expect to have it OPEN on Thursday, 5/28. Watch our stories for regular updates!

Happy Memorial Day! 🇺🇸🍓

We are OPEN for strawberry picking and in the market today! Normal business hours 9am-6pm 🍓🇺🇸🍑🍅🥬

It’s looking like a beautiful day to pick strawberries, enjoy an apple cider slushie, shop some homegrown and fresh produce, grab some donuts, and play in the Barnyard! 🍓🍑🍅🥬🇺🇸

The last tractor ride leaves at 5pm for you-pick, so be here before then! 🍓 We have gotten a lot of rain recently, so come prepared with boots!

🍑 South Carolina peaches have hit the market! 🍑

We now have early season clingstone peaches available in the market! 🍑 We love when peach season comes back around!

These peaches are a variety called Flavor Rich 🍑 They’re one of the first ripening peaches of the season and are known for their rich, sweet flavor - something in the name!

As the season progresses, we will transition to freestones. We have preorders available on our website for bushel boxes of freestone peaches to be picked up later in the season - head there to place an order now at a discounted price! 🍑

We have homegrown leafy greens including kale, summer crisp, iceberg lettuce, romaine lettuce, and Napa cabbage 🥬 freshly picked right from our fields!

There are still several gorgeous premium hanging baskets to choose from! Come snag them up this weekend 🌸

Strawberry status:
❌ NO strawberry you-pick today, Sunday, 5/24. The fields need to rest and recover, and we need more fruit to ripen to ensure a good experience. Check back for a status for tomorrow.
🍓 We WILL have a limited amount of pre-picked strawberries in the market, and we have buckets of “jammers” available at a discounted price.
🍓 What’s a “jammer” bucket? These are berries with imperfections: hail damage, rain cracking, soft spots, etc. They are NOT perfect, and are ideal for processing, baking, jamming… Please do not purchase a bucket of jammers expecting perfection. They will have blemishes and need to be used quickly!

Our market is OPEN tomorrow for Memorial Day, and we hope to have strawberry you-pick open, but you-pick is TBD 🇺🇸

We’ve talked a lot about strawberries, rain, and hail damage lately, so let’s focus on some positives! 🥬🥦 Our Napa Cabbage, Iceberg Lettuce, Romaine Lettuce, and Broccoli are all coming along nicely!

We checked on the status of some of our greens today, and some of them are just about ready to be picked!

Broccoli is just starting to bead, and should start to be ready in another 2-3 weeks 🥦

Napa Cabbage, Iceberg Lettuce, and Romaine Lettuce are just days away from being available in the market! 🥬 We currently have a lot of Summer Crisp, Kohlrabi, Kale, and Bok Choy available NOW!

Somehow the hail we had a few days ago missed most of the greens that we have planted. It’s amazing how different parts of our farm are affected differently by the weather. Something to be thankful for, in this case!

Strawberry availability will be limited or nonexistent over the weekend - we will post updates regularly on our Facebook and Instagram stories. Please check there, or call our market during business hours for up to date info.

We hope to have you-pick open all weekend, but again, is subject to change based on weather and field conditions.

We’ve got everything you need for a sweet and fun Memorial Day Weekend! 🍓🍩🍰

Strawberry you-pick is OPEN today, Thursday 5/21 🍓 The fields had a chance to rest yesterday and today is a good day to pick, although muddy!

Homemade Strawberry Shortcake can be found and enjoyed in our market at the cider bar on weekdays, or in the concession stand on weekends! 🍓🍰 Made with our homemade cream cheese shortcake slices and our homegrown strawberries! Pick up some slices of shortcake to make your own at home, too!

Freshly made apple cider and strawberry donuts are available too! 🍓🍩 Pair them with some strawberry hard cider and you’ve got a pretty solid weekend treat!

Don’t want to pick your own strawberries? We have them available pre-picked in the market in quart containers or in 4-quart buckets 🍓😋

We will update our social media pages DAILY, multiple times throughout the day, as you-pick availability changes. PLEASE watch for those updates the most immediate info!

Update: Strawberry You-Pick Closed Wednesday 5/20 🚫🍓

We have gotten over 3 inches of rain in the last 48 hours, and not a lot of sun to dry the fields out or help the fruit ripen. Therefore, the fields are closed to you-pick today, Wednesday 5/20.

There are LOTS of pre-picked strawberries available in our market, so come see us to grab some, a strawberry slushie, strawberry pie or crumble bar, or other goodies!

We’ll update on the status of you-pick for Thursday 5/21 via our stories tonight or tomorrow morning. Please check here regularly for updates before making a trip!

Homegrown Bok Choy is available in the market! 🎉

We’ve officially begun harvesting our homegrown bok choy, and you can find it in our barn market NOW! How beautiful is this?! 😍

Bok choy is a nutrient-dense green that has been cultivated for over 6,000 years! It is an excellent source of vitamins A, C, and K, which help support immunity, skin health, and bone strength 💪🏼

The stalks (the white part) are one of Calvin’s favorite things to eat on the whole farm! The texture is similar to celery without the stringy fibers, and it has a slightly spicy radish-y flavor. Come in to grab some and let us know if you love it, too!

It’s available in our market for $2.99 each, or as part of the “leafy greens” 2/$5 deal! Grab some homegrown kale or summer crisp lettuce to mix and match! 🥬

We have lots of homegrown strawberries in our market as of this evening 🍓 We will update on you-pick strawberry status in the morning, as it’s expected to rain some more 👎🏼 We don’t need any more!

Our you-pick strawberry field is OPEN today, 5/17! It’s a gorgeous day to be picking strawberries! 🍓

Our final delivery of summer flower hanging baskets arrived yesterday, and they are gorgeous! 🌸🌼

It’s time to brighten up that front porch, patio, or plant beds around the house for summer, and these hanging baskets bring ALL of the colors! 😍

These premium beautiful hanging baskets come directly to us from Hoods Gardens in Noblesville, and we’re in love with them 🌼🌸 Come out soon to get your pick of the variety and get them up around the house!

Strawberry you-pick will be open tomorrow, 5/17, starting at 12pm when we open on Sundays 🍓 Supply for the market will be limited - the cooler temps + no sunshine = not enough ripening fruit!

Rain is forecasted for several days next week, so watch our social media pages for updates on you-pick 🍓🌧️ We have a second strawberry crop that will come on later in the summer!

‼️🍓 Strawberry You-Pick Update 🍓‼️

STRAWBERRY YOU-PICK: CLOSED 5/15 and 5/16

We don’t like making these cancellation updates any more than you like reading them, but sometimes Mother Nature leaves us no choice! ⛈️

We are getting more rain today, 5/15, than we hoped, and it’s forecasted to storm for most of the day tomorrow, 5/16 ⛈️ Therefore, we will NOT have strawberry you-pick open on 5/15 or 5/16 😔

We do plan to have strawberries available pre-picked in the market this weekend, but it is likely that we sell out Saturday with you-pick closed. If you’re wanting strawberries, come today (Friday) or early Saturday! 🍓

The good news: there should be plenty of ripe fruit on Sunday ready to be picked! We expect you-pick to be OPEN on Sunday 5/17 🍓

We open at 12pm on Sundays, and the last tractor ride leaves for the field at 5pm. We hope to see you all for you-pick then!
