Quick guessing game… 😂

The power went out this morning and suddenly I had to decide REAL fast which incubator was getting plugged into the Jackery first.

Let’s just say there was absolutely NO hesitation about which eggs were considered the “most precious cargo” around here right now.

Hint: they belong to a bird that’s extra fancy, dramatic, and thinks it owns the farm already. 🦚🤣

Apparently 2026 is officially “The Year of the Pepper” over here. 🌶️😂

This year I decided peppers deserved my full attention, so no tomatoes or other garden distractions allowed. Just me, my peppers, and a questionable amount of confidence.

I’ve learned ALL the things… some the right way, some the “well that plant didn’t make it” way. Mistakes were definitely made, casualties happened, and a few plants only survived because they apparently believed in second chances and they were my least important varieties.

And can we talk about the absolute controversy in the pepper world over pinching, topping, and pruning? I had no idea peppers came with so many strong opinions. At this point I basically have a “control group” and an ongoing science experiment happening in the garden. I found Pepper Guru and now I’m starting to level up a bit thankfully.

For now, the shenanigans have been reduced… but not eliminated. (It just rained, I did not top water…don’t come at me)

Kudos to Crooked Arrow Ranch and The Snitchstead for organizing a successful benefit for Chelsea. It is an honor to donate to such a worthy cause in support of Chelsea Kearns. My sincere wishes are with the family. Congratulations to The Grey Rabbit Farm on winning the eggs. May the postal service treat the package with gentleness as it reaches its destination.
