A few pics from the farm walk this weekend (sponsored by and for Biodiversity week).

It’s such a pleasure to share with visitors how we practice Agroecology; growing nutritious food for our community while making space for nature to flourish.

We’ll be hosting another farm walk in July - so keep an eye out for that. And if you’re a group who wants to arrange a private tour then please send us a DM or email.

Help Wanted at Gorse Farm 🌱

We’re looking for someone to join the team here at Gorse Farm.

The role will start at approx. 8 hours per week, mornings are also an option and the potential for hours to grow as the season picks up.

What’s involved:

Harvesting and packing
Planting, bed prep and general crop care
Helping out with other farm tasks as they arise
Experience isn’t essential, but an interest in veg growing is. This is a great learning opportunity for the right person. What matters most is a genuine interest in growing and a solid work ethic.

This is a hands-on, physical role - expect tasks like hoeing, lifting, using wheelbarrows, and carrying crates of produce.

If it sounds like a good fit, send us a message here, or feel free to pass it on to someone who might be interested.

A brilliant final day of our first Year-Round Salad Production course 🌱

Today we covered soil health, propagation, and summer salad production — along with a proper look around the farm to see how we keep quality salads growing through the depths of winter.

It’s been such a great group to work with. We’ve loved the conversations, the questions, and the shared enthusiasm.

If you’re ready to strengthen your own year-round production, we’re running ‘Mastering Year-Round Salad Production’ again through National Organic Skillnet

Booking link is in our bio. 💚

We’re pleased to be running our Year-Round Salad Production course again this year at Gorse Farm.

We designed this course for growers who want to produce consistent, high-quality salad crops throughout the year.
Drawing on ten years of business experience we are offering insights and learnings and the opportunity to learn real-time from what we are doing. The course combines classroom sessions with demos across three seasonal days.

Topics include:
• Crop planning & scheduling
• Soil fertility, pest and w**d management
• Harvesting & packing
• Infrastructure, irrigation & business planning

If salad production is something you are doing (or thinking about) then this is the right course for you.

You can book through nots.ie - link in our bio
