Worth the Wait Farm

Worth the Wait Farm Welcome to Worth the Wait Farm! Our herd of Oberhasli goats give us some of the best tasting milk from which we make a fine selection of cheeses.

We are a state licensed goat dairy serving a variety of cheese, raw milk, and as a licensed bakery we offer a full line of bakery goods made with our milk, eggs and whey. We use their goats milk in our selection of soaps, lotions and bath teas. Every spring we also sell ADGA registrable Oberhasli and Oberhasli/Alpine kids. Our closed herd is tested yearly for CAE, CL and Johne's. We also test fo

r TB and Brucellosis as required by the state. We also have beehives and do sell limited amounts of honey. We also make handwoven baskets of all shapes and sizes. We can customize any of our basket to fit your needs, your color palette, etc.

In 2-3 weeks we will have goat meat available for sale.
Did you know that goat meat is THE most consumed meat in the WORLD?
Goat meat is lean, has fewer calories, fat and cholesterol than beef and it is higher in iron. Plus, it’s delicious!

Our bucklings, that will be processed for meat, were dam raised for 10-12 weeks, grain and hay always offered. They have had a great life.
We respect those that don’t eat meat, but we feel that happy, locally raised meat is THE best choice for you and your family and environment.

We will be offering ground (perfect for tacos!), chops, bulk sausage, legs and shoulders, both whole and boneless (make perfect stew meat or roasts).

We also hope to have treats for your favorite dogs.

Meat will be available at the Portland Farmers Market and here on the farm.

USDA processed at an organic facility.

Tomorrow, this fabulous young woman turns 16 years old! You will never meet a nicer, more compassionate young woman.
I am so proud to be able to watch her grow, blossom, and become such an incredible person.
Happy birthday Kenz from EVERYONE here at our little goat farm.

As many of you know we have a small 4-H club. We have kids aged 7-16 and they’re all really great kids.
It’s hard sometimes, because I am NOT a spring chick, and it can be a bit of work.

Is it worth it? ABSOLUTELY!!

These pictures are our youngest and oldest members showing together. This was the youngest 1st time in the show ring, where he was the one showing the goat, in this case Rhea.

THIS is why we do a 4-H club. This is why kids who grow up with an agricultural base learn how to care, share, teach, learn, and grow with grace.
Is it easy? Not always. Am I the best or even a good 4-H leader, nope, but I do try.
Do we have fun learning together. Yes, we do.

We are happy to have new members join our club, kids need to be aged 7-18. Goat ownership is not required.

Baby Robins Growing Fast!!

08/16/2026

Goats always make you question why? Today, as many days, I had a first with goats.
Our granddaughter showed a doe, that won reserve champion (yay!).
At an official ADGA show, the tattoos must be read, compared to registration papers, and this is to be done by the judge.
Well….
While the judge was reading Cammie’s tattoo, she hit his smart watch with her nose and yup, she dialed 911!!
The judge then had to explain that a goat made the call, there was no 911 and we were all good.

Goats. They do keep life interesting!

This young woman is strong.
The other day, she had to say goodbye to her first bottle baby. A baby that she fed every 2 hours, when his mom didn’t care for him. She stepped in without reservation.

He, well, he is a he and this makes it so that she couldn’t keep him. She isn’t set up to house her own bucks.

Livestock teach us something everyday. Somedays are harder than other days.

He is going to a pet home. He will be okay.
She will be okay too, because she loved and will always remember.
