Another season has come to an end. Honestly, we thought it was going to be a disaster. How could it not be? Mark was sidelined for the season for the first time in 17 years. What made all the difference is that we are fortunate to have friends and family that reached out and brought their marvelous selves to the orchard to help us. They climbed ladders, hauled and handled hundreds of pounds of apples, and found joy in the company of new and old friends. Their kindness has been everything.
Our customers stayed with us, adjusting to new hours, discovering just the right apples and loads of honey to take home, and without fail, wishing Mark a successful recovery. We are grateful for their enduring support and friendly faces.
From the beginning to our last week of the season, many thanks to Alison, Bill, Brittany, Dave, Janna, Jeanna, Jim, Linda, Mark, Melanie, and Tom for all their work to make it happen. A very special shout out to Jeanna (aka Abby’s mom), who showed up every single morning with a contagious smile on her face and enough enthusiasm and energy to carry her (and sometimes her daughter) through the entire day, and then some. She is a force and truly amazing. And thankfully, Mark is on the mend. His broken arm will take many more months to fully recover, but the progress is encouraging.
On a fruiter note🍎, we do have a small quantity of apples remaining if you missed us on Saturday, including sauce and baking quality (thirds). We also have honey available. Please message us on FB or email us at [email protected] if you are interested in purchasing apples or honey for pick up this week.
Thanks to everyone that was a part of our season. We appreciate you🫶
