Let’s do a roundup! It’s been so wonderfully busy the last two weeks of markets that we haven’t had time to do any vendor highlights, so we’re overdue! Our goal has always been to provide a full local grocery shopping experience for our Southwest Denver neighbors, and we know that for many families animal protein is a part of the weekly haul. We want to highlight the incredible farmers and ranchers bringing healthy, ethically-produced animal products to the HPFM—they’re all on the north side of the market in our “grocery aisle,” so stop by and get to know them this coming weekend!

- phenomenal cow-calf dairy out of Longmont bringing us the most delicious milk, yogurt, butter, cream, and cheeses! Grab a chocolate or strawberry milk for the kids—you’ll never go back to grocery store milk! 🥛

- eggs, whole chicken, and chicken wings, legs, and breasts, all organically and sustainably raised in Strasberg! Check out the beautiful rainbow colors of their eggs! 🐓

- family-owned-and-operated, farrow-to-finish Berkshire pig farm located in Akron, CO - grab your weekly bacon, pork belly, pork chop, and more! 🐖
cuts - a Fowler, Colorado-based cattle ranch focused on animal welfare, environmental welfare, and great-tasting beef. Grab a prime cut, some summer sausage, jerky, and even tallow and pet treats! 🐄

There’s not even close to enough space in a social media post to tell the stories of these incredible producers, so we urge you to do what we hope will become a habit for the Southwest Denver community—talk to them when you’re shopping, ask questions, and come back weekly to nurture those human connections! We can’t wait to see you on Saturday! ✨

Happy Mother’s Day, Southwest Denver! We had another incredible market day yesterday—sitting here feeling so grateful thinking about how many of our community members have been gifted flowers from right here in our neighborhood ( !) in celebration today. Wishing everyone a beautiful day, and we’ll see you next week! 💐

We’re so excited for our second market day of the season! Since it’s likely we’ll see some new faces this weekend, we wanted to share answers to some frequently asked questions from last weekend. See below—we can’t wait for tomorrow morning, Southwest Denver!

🚲WALK OR BIKE IF POSSIBLE: There is street parking throughout the neighborhood surrounding the market, but we heard from folks that it got tricky by mid-morning last week. If you’re able, it’s worth walking or biking—bike storage is at the Community Pavilion above the market space, just west of the live music.

🚫🐶NO DOGS PERMITTED: We have a dog and we love dogs, but in our rental contract with Denver Public Schools we’ve agreed to enforce the district’s policy that dogs are not permitted on school campuses. We’ll have friendly folks in yellow T-shirts reminding folks of this policy at the market entrances this week, but we would love it if you could also remind friends and neighbors beforehand so we don’t have to do as much enforcement and can spend more of our time visiting with y’all!

✨COMMUNITY PAVILION: Check it out! It’s up the stairs above the south side of the market, and we have café tables with umbrellas and seating, a mini amphitheater where local musicians perform every week, a turf field where you can lay out a picnic blanket, and a playground for the littles! Take your brunch or coffee up away from the crowds and make a morning of it!

💳SNAP/EBT WELCOME: The staff and volunteers at the Market Information tent by the baseball field can swipe EBT cards and are happy to get you set up with SNAP market bucks and Double Up Food Bucks!

Folks. We can’t possibly capture how beautiful today was. To say our hearts are full is a vast understatement. The level of support we witnessed from Southwest Denver for our incredible team of vendors and artists exceeded our wildest dreams. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for showing up to be in community. For believing in the power of a resilient local economy. For all the hugs and for telling us so many times how much you’ve longed for this opportunity to be able to walk or bike to a third space that is filled with neighbors and joy—it’s so clear we all have. In the words of the recent Artemis space team, trust us, you look AMAZING! Thank you to the Kunsmiller for including us in your Cinco de Mayo celebration and sharing your incredible space with us this season, to for gracing us with your music and poetry, to every producer who brought beautiful food they created with their own hands and hearts. Despite the things we sometimes hear and believe about humans, society, and the future—y’all proved them wrong. You showed up. Let’s do it again next Saturday.
