1. The peach tree is producing for the first time.
2. We've started an asparagus patch.

Lots of things ripening these last couple weeks. Most notably the squash are rolling in. And we have plums, on plums, on plums. 🤩 We ran our first batch of nutty plum conserves - delicous! In addition, we stepped away from the garden to check out the fair this past weekend. (pictured: arm wrestling, ugly cakes, and sleeping chickens)

We love this time of year! ☀ 🌿 We have flowers as far as the eye can see 🤩🤩🤩. And amongst the blooms our veggies are taking off! The first celery and spaghetti squash are ready to pick. Plums are ripening. The chickens helped us dig out then bury wire around the shed to keep critters from moving in under the shed. Then we built the ramp! And Nibbler is officially our 3rd rooster who should have been a hen. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

What have we been up to these last couple weeks? 🤔 Shed building!!! We're still wrapping up painting it but the chickens have been managing our progress every step of the way and 100% approve. 😉😁

In case anyone is curious: The chickens have deemed cantaloupe and papaya to be far superior to watermelon. Pineapple is SO last season apparently. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

It's been a couple weeks, what's new on the micro-farm??? Summer is here!! The plants are growing. The babies are now one tribe with the grown hens. SO much watermelon is being enjoyed. And we seem to have a second rooster now?! Ashy Slashy is doing a wonderful job showing Butters the ropes. Together they'll do a marvelous job keeping a eye on the sky.

This past week on the micro-farm the babies have started mingling with the hens with great success. We harvested the lions mane we were growing - it was delicious! The hens got in touch with their dino roots. And we made soap.
