The Des Moines Waterfront Farmers Market is kicking off its 21st season, and we are so excited to be back with our community this June.
This year comes with a few changes, and we want to share what to expect.
First, a big thank you to our friends at the Marina and the City of Des Moines for offering space in the north parking lot to ensure our nonprofit farmers market has a home during the stair construction. We are so happy to have truly great partners who recognize how much our season means to the community.
Because of construction, our layout will look a little different this season. The market will now use about 50% of the north parking lot (the west half), with parking still available in the remaining spaces. You’ll also notice updated traffic flow this year, with signage, cones, and volunteers onsite to help guide the way. Be sure to check out the map for details.
A couple important notes:
• Overnight parking will not be available in the west half of the north lot on Fridays from June through September
• Additional parking is available near the Quarterdeck and in the south parking lot
• We’ll have a shuttle running from the south parking lot all season long to make access easier
There’s been a lot of behind-the-scenes effort to make this season possible. While the layout may feel new at first, our goal remains unchanged: a vibrant, welcoming market centered around local vendors, great food, and community.
We truly appreciate your support as we roll out this new layout and navigate the season ahead. Opening day may come with a few adjustments, but we’re excited to take it on together. Thank you for your enthusiasm, your participation, and your continued patience.
